As of December 25, 2024, the track has joined the legendary K-pop hit Gangnam Style in achieving this feat, making them the only K-pop soloist songs in history to spend 22 weeks on the Billboard Hot 100.

Currently holding the 47th spot on the Billboard Global Chart, Who has solidified its place as the most successful and longest-charting K-pop soloist song of the decade on this chart. Fans are celebrating Jimin’s influence and the song’s continued impact long after its release.

Jimin stands as the most successful K-pop soloist of the decade on Billboard

On December 9, 2024, Jimin of BTS achieved a groundbreaking milestone, becoming the first and only Korean or K-pop soloist in the past decade to surpass 1 billion on-demand streams as a lead artist in the United States. This historic accomplishment placed him alongside PSY, the veteran Korean artist, as the only two K-pop stars to reach this level of success in streaming history.

Adding to this legacy, Jimin's hit song Who has joined PSY’s iconic Gangnam Style as the only K-pop soloist tracks to chart for over 22 weeks on the Billboard Global Chart. While Gangnam Style achieved this milestone in the decade of 2010–2019, Who is blazing its trail in the current decade (2020–2029), solidifying the star's status as the most successful K-pop soloist of the decade, according to Billboard.

Here’s how the two songs rank among other notable K-pop soloist tracks on the Billboard Global Chart:

  1. Gangnam Style — 31 weeks
  2. Who — 22* weeks (still charting)
  3. One of the Girls (BLACKPINK’s Jennie) — 20 weeks
  4. Standing Next To You (Jungkook) — 19 weeks
  5. Left and Right (Jungkook and Charlie Puth) — 17 weeks
  6. Seven (Jungkook), Gentleman (PSY) — 15 weeks
  7. 3D (Jungkook and Jack Harlow) — 9 weeks

Who has also earned Jimin numerous accolades, including Best Solo Artist at the Channel R Awards for 2024 being the most recent one. Released in July as part of his album MUSE, the song topped the Billboard Global 200 chart and became a massive hit, reaching 1 billion streams on Spotify within six months. This made it the fastest song of 2024 to achieve this milestone.

Fans continue to celebrate his success, lauding his ability to leave an important impact on the music industry both as a member of BTS and as a soloist.
