On October 24, 2024, Thai actor Mew Suppasit Jongcheveevat proposed and subsequently got engaged to his boyfriend Tul Pakorn Tyler Thanasrivanitchai during the former's press conference for his new single Absence. The proposal and engagement sent internet users into a frenzy. It is to be noted that Suppasit has penned the latest track for his lover Tul.

While proposing to Tul, Suppasit said, as translated by ABS-CBN News:

"Like I told you, this song is made for someone special. As you asked the theme was a song for marriage."

In response, Tul proposed to Suppasit with a ring and confessed that he was grateful to the latter for being a part of his life. The two got engaged in public and shared a kiss. The press conference was filled with laughter, giggles, and cheers for the newly engaged couple. The pictures and videos from the press conference circulated on social media and eventually went viral. The fandom could not contain their excitement, and an X user tweeted:
