Jungkook ranks #3 on KOFICE's Korean Wave Contents, 2024
On December 24, 2024, KOFICE unveiled its annual list of the Top 5 Korean Wave Contents, determined through public surveys conducted across 17 countries.
KOFICE (Korea Foundation for International Culture Exchange) is an organization that promotes Korean culture and its global influence, often referred to as the "Korean Wave" or Hallyu. It conducts various projects and surveys to measure the global popularity of Korean cultural content, including K-pop, dramas, films, and more.
These 17 territories included Taiwan, Germany, Malaysia, Mexico, Mongolia, Brazil, Spain, Singapore, Egypt, Indonesia, Japan, China, Colombia, Thailand, Turkey, Hungary, and Australia.
The survey responses were collected over a two-week period from October 15 to October 31, resulting in the following rankings:
- Rosé
- Aespa
- Jungkook
- ILLIT
- BTS
Notably, Rosé and Jungkook were the only soloists featured on this list. Rosé claimed the top spot overall, making her the highest-ranking female star. Meanwhile, the GOLDEN maknae secured the title of the highest-ranking male idol, surpassing even his own group, BTS.
ARMYs were particularly proud of the BTS member's achievement, as he had ranked first in 2023 on this very chart, the year of his official solo debut. This year, he maintained a prominent position despite serving in the military and releasing no new music, which is a testament to the lasting impact of his work.
