Balming Tiger's San Yawn opened up about the emotions he felt while working on BTS’ RM’s second solo album Right Place, Wrong Person. On August 21, SSENSE released their collaborative interview with the team of creators of Right Place, Wrong Person.
San Yawn is the leader of the musical group Balming Tiger and is also known to be a close friend of the BTS leader. San Yawn was the creative director and the producer for RM’s second album. He formed TEAM RM, a set of new people, in a distinct environment where the BTS member could find new perspectives in the journey of finding himself.
In a recent interview, San Yawn revealed that the album was formed through multiple sessions taking place in different countries. He shared his concerns and emotions during the making process.

“My concern was whether RM would lose his way or become exhausted while navigating the new creative environment and relationships. My role seemed to be to encourage and uplift RM and the Team RM members to complete the project.”
He further added,
“[We could] face external worries and perspectives because of who RM is. He was the only person who could deliver this message at this time. That was the driving force for all of us.”
Sehoon Jang shares how BTS’ RM's sophomore album Right Place, Wrong Person was formed
Sehoon Jang was responsible for the A&R of RM's Right Place, Wrong Person, and in a recent interview with SSENSE, he shared how and when the process of the album started. According to Sehoon Jang, it all started with a song camp in February 2023; later, the team started working on the songs.
The first draft of Come back to me was made around May 2023, a year before its release at Music Village 1939, located in Gapyeong. Team RM was joined by Korean indie band Hyukoh members Lee Inwoo and Oh Hyuk and Kuo, the vocalist and guitarist of the Taiwanese jazz band Sunset Rollercoaster for Come back to me.
As time passed and the album progressed, the team took overseas trips to work in a different atmosphere. The trip to Tokyo and London was memorable for Sehoon Jang. The team also went to the picturesque city of Hwacheon as well as Jeju Island.
Se-hoon Jang shared that TEAM RM was a crew of a small number of members, even though Kim Namjoon was a part of one of the notable musical acts like BTS. He shared that this experience reminded the BTS rapper of the early days of his musical career.
He stated,
“RM noted that it reminded him of his early music days when he would roam places like Ilsan Lake Park, the Han River, and Hongdae to record demos with friends after making his first mixtape.”

The BTS leader dropped his first mixtape titled “RM” in 2015, followed by his second solo mixtape, Mono, in 2018. He released his first official solo album, INDIGO, in 2022, featuring renowned artists like Anderson Paak, Erykah Badu, Epik High's Tablo, Paul Blanco, Colde, Park Ji-yoon, and more.
