On January 16, 2025, Girls' Generation members came together to be the part of SM Entertainment’s 30th anniversary compilation album, titled 'SMTOWN: THE CULTURE, THE FUTURE.' This year, South Korea’s entertainment giant SM Entertainment is marking its 30 year anniversary, and for these celebrations the company invited all of their artists from the past. The recent reunion of Girls' Generation, aka SNSD, caught much attention of fans.
Fans of SNSD were delighted to see the band members together. As a result, their fans inundated the internet with their love and admiration for the girl group reunion.
“The most gorgeous queens really,” commented a fan on X.
Many SNSD fans recounted their memories attached to the group and their songs, with one describing them as the “blueprint for girl groups.”
“soshi were one of the few colors in my almost black and white childhood days and almost 2 decades later they still bring the same exact color to my life. no matter how much time passes and no matter how old they are they will always be my girls,” wrote a fan.

Taeyeon, Sunny, Yoona, Tiffany, Hyoyeon, Yuri, Sooyoung, and Seohyun are all members of the Girls' Generation. The group, initially comprising nine members, saw Jessica's departure in September 2014. The squad is also referred to as SNSD and SOSHI (the group’s Korean name).
The Korean girl group has received multiple awards and the honorary title "The Nation's Girl Group" in their native country.
SNSD made their debut on August 5, 2007, with the track Into the New World that appeared on their self-titled Korean album. The ensemble achieved prominence in 2009 with the song Gee, which secured the number one position on KBS's Music Bank for a remarkable nine consecutive weeks and was Melon's most favored song of the 2000s.
SNSD entered the Japanese music market in 2011 with their self-titled Japanese album, which became the inaugural record by a non-Japanese girl band to receive a million certification from the RIAJ.
They were the inaugural Asian girl group to attain five music videos exceeding 100 million views on YouTube, namely Gee, I Got a Boy, The Boys, Mr. Taxi, and Oh!.
Later, Tiffany, Sooyoung, and Seohyun departed from SM Entertainment on October 9, 2017, but they have continued to be part of the ensemble.
In related news, SM Entertainment organized SMTown Live 2025, a two-day concert, in Seoul to celebrate its anniversary. Several groups including NCT, aespa, Red Velvet, TVXQ!, and many more performed at the grand event.
