New characters are introduced in this episode of The Judge from Hell as a family of three is shown to be driving somewhere. As they face an accident, the car goes into the water. Since the sunroof was open, the mother driving the car managed to escape with the child sitting in the front seat, but the father could not be saved.
At the funeral, the child's paternal grandmother, Jang Sun-hui, creates a scene, accusing the mother of having murdered her son and refusing to let her take the child.
This accident is the case brought to Bit-na in The Judge From Hell episode 3. Sun-hui is accused of taking Yoo Ji-ho, the child, without the permission of Bae Ja-yeong, the guardian. She again accuses Ja-yeong of having murdered her son, Yoo Hyeon-su, and has to be taken out of the court. However, while being taken away, Sun-hui mentions insurance money, piquing Bit-na's interest in the case.
She decides to meet Bae Ja-yeong to do some inquiry. Bae Ja-yeong tells her Sun-hui had abandoned Hyeon-su and kept asking for money later. Ja-yeong said Sun-hui is after the money, which is why she wants to have Ji-ho with her.
Meanwhile, Da-on is persistent in knowing why Bit-na killed him and decides to keep her company at all times. So, he accompanies her to meet Sun-hui. Here, she tells them Ja-yeong was flirting with another man on the day of the funeral. Moreover, she would often leave Ji-ho to take care of himself.
Since Da-on wanted to inquire further, he sent Ji-ho with Bit-na. While looking at the pictures Ji-ho had drawn, Bit-na discovered that Ja-yeong played a game with him, where she would try to suffocate him with a pillow. Ji-ho also revealed that Ja-yeong had glued the car seat belt and left Hyeon-su to die. She even threatened him to stay silent unless he wanted Sun-hui to die as well.
For her verdict, Bit-na let Sun-hui go and asked her to settle the matter of Ji-ho's guardianship with Ja-yeong.
Ja-yeong somehow manages to take Ji-ho with her and intends to drown him. Bit-na gets ready for her next trial while Da-on searches for Ji-ho. With this, the third episode of The Judge From Hell ends.
