The Judge From Hell episode 5-6 recap: Does Seung-bin have dissociative identity disorder?
In the fifth episode of The Judge from Hell, Kang Bit-na wakes up in the hospital to find A-rong, Man-do, and Da-on beside her bed. The doctor tells her that there is nothing physically wrong with her. Da-on decides to drop her home and on their way back, he tells her that he wants to know everything about her.
Bit-na asks Man-do to find out more about herself in The Judge from Hell, so she can satisfy Da-on's curiosity and get rid of him. Meanwhile, A-rong tells her about a meeting where demons get together to share information about Satan, who escaped with the Kylum. She suggests that Bit-na find Satan and offer him to Lucifer and Bael to be forgiven.
The next day, as Bit-na, Man-do, and A-rong set out for the meeting, Da-on follows them and finds himself in a community kitchen. The room is full of demons. As they inquire about him, Bit-na comes to his rescue and answers that he is her driver. One of the demons briefs him about the situation.
In this episode of The Judge from Hell, it is revealed that 26 years ago, Lucifer ruled over Hell. Then, one day, Satan, who was second in command, rebelled. Unable to defeat Lucifer, Satan fled with the Kylum. With the Kylum, he could eternally live as a human. However, while fleeing, he dropped the Kylum and disappeared. The demons gather once a month to exchange information and volunteer to not appear suspicious.
Though Bit-na asks Da-on to leave, he decides to help them distribute the food packets. Here, he sees a demon tear up while distributing the packets. The demon, who now knows that Da-on is a human, confronts him, scared that he might reveal to others that the demon feels emotions. Da-on promises to keep his secret and asks about Justitia. The demon asks him to stay away from her.
In another case, a father who allegedly murdered his wife and two children is interrogated by Da-on. During the interrogation, he constantly changes his statements. Yang Seung-bin, the accused who is denying the claims of murder, seems to have two more personalities—Kim Seo-yul is a scared child and Koo Do-wan is the one claiming to have murdered Seung-bin's family.
In the middle of the interrogation, the two personalities get into a fight and Seung-bin starts hitting himself and faints. As he comes to his senses, he forgets what happened.
Bit-na is informed of this new case by Man-do. Meanwhile, Da-on, who is having a hard time with the case due to his past, believes Seung-bin is lying. When Da-on mixed up the surnames of the two personalities during the interrogation, Seung-bin, while explaining, said the correct names.
Excited to have found her new victim, she gets herself transferred to the collegiate court-specific case through the help of Assemblyman Jeong. During the court proceeding, Seung-bin seems to have another episode and has to be taken away. Bit-na asks for him to be psychologically evaluated.
With the help of A-ron, she breaks into the facility where Seung-bin is and gets ready to try him for murder. Just then, Da-on grabs her leg from under the bed.
In the sixth episode of The Judge from Hell, Bit-na manages to escape. Though Da-on has his doubts, his lack of evidence is not much help.
The next day in the court, Da-on manages to collect evidence against Seung-bin during the proceedings. However, Bit-na claims them to be inadmissible and lets Seung-bin go with two years of treatment under custody, much to everyone's surprise.
On the way to the psychiatric facility, the police convoy is attacked and Seung-bin is kidnapped. Da-on, though mildly injured, tries to get Man-do to spill the truth but he refuses. So, he decides to sit outside Bit-na's door to keep a check.
Bit-na escapes through the back window and with Man-do's voice-changing abilities, convinces Da-on that she is home. Then, Seung-bin's trial begins. To give him a taste of his own medicine, Bit-na lets him experience getting assaulted in the lift, stabbed and hit on the head with a hammer.
After getting his confession, as a final act, she stabs him 21 times (the number of times he stabbed his family) and brands him with the words "Gehenna." In the morning, when Da-on wakes up on the chair, he sees Bit-na coming out of the house. Just then, he gets a call about Seung-bin's death.
Han Da-on, who is still on the lookout for evidence, visits the demon who had earlier shed a tear, only to find out that he had died by suicide. Here, it is revealed that A-rong's real mission is to find demons who have been swayed by human emotions. Since the demon had been dating a woman, he had to be sent back to hell.
Angry, Da-on blames Bit-na, who gets frustrated due to such an accusation. Meanwhile, the guys who clean up after Bit-na give A-rong information about the body they disposed of being emotionally charged. The sixth episode of The Judge from Hell ends with a resident of the same place being followed in the dark.
The next episode of The Judge from Hell will be released on 11 October.
