In the latest content, the male actor is shown showcasing his back against the backdrop of Bogota, Colombia. The background features high-rise buildings, rivers, and other elements of a metropolitan city. He appears to be lost in deep thought while donning a white shirt and gray pants.
Set in the 1990s, Bogota: City of the Lost follows the story of 19-year-old Guk Hee, who migrates to Bogota in search of a better life. Although he starts his career at the bottom of the social ladder, Guk Hee eventually achieves success and comes to dominate the black market of Bogota.
Song Joong-ki expected to portray Guk Hee in Bogota: City of the Lost
Song Joong-ki would take on the role of Guk Hee in the forthcoming thriller and mystery film Bogota: City of the Lost. After losing everything during the International Monetary Fund crisis, he migrates to Bogota for a better life. He travels to the city with other fellows, including Geun Tae, Soo Young, and Sergeant Park. He subsequently becomes entangled in multiple challenges, ultimately rising to become the master of the black market of the region.
Bogota: City of the Lost will be directed by Kim Sung-jae, known for projects such as Minority Opinion and Blood Rain. The screenplay is penned by Hwang Sung-goo, who is popular for shows such as Little Forest, Anarchist from Colony, The Scent, Tabloid Truth, and other series.
According to the South Korean media outlet Top News, director Kim Sung-jae wanted to capture the real essence and beauty of Colombia. He mentioned that he had visited the region multiple times and expressed his pride in filming Bogota: City of the Lost in the actual setting:
"I have visited Colombia many times. I wanted to capture the unfamiliar and strange feelings that come from the details."
Subsequently, Song Joong-ki confessed that he could not forget the first time he went to Colombia. He stated that it was probably the farthest and longest destination he had ever visited. The actor mentioned to the outlet:
"I can't forget the first time I went to Colombia. It was probably the first time I went to Colombia. It was probably the farthest place I've ever been and the destination where I had to take the longest flight. It was a place that radiated lively and cheerful energy where you could hear music and people were dancing wherever you went."
