On August 21, SSENSE released an interview with BTS' RM and his team about his latest solo album, Right Place, Wrong Person. RM discussed his creative process, the emotions involved, and the challenges faced while making the album. The interview also included comments from SSENSE about RM and his team.
SSENSE, a global technology platform that operates at the intersection of community, culture, and commerce, is an establishment that talks about fashion, artists, music, and more. Among the several things they unpacked during their recent collaborative interview with BTS' RM, they also commented on his position as BTS' leader.
They expressed that it must've been extremely burdening and pressurizing to be the leader of the leading musical group in the world. They also talked about how they were impressed with how the idol guided the group and navigated himself through the position as BTS' leader for over 11 years without controversy.
Here's what they said:
"Imagine living a day as the leader of BTS, the K-pop group that has been counted among the world's most popular acts for years. The weight of such fame is overwhelming, more burdensome than sweet. Most aren't cut out for it, but RM has navigated through this intense position for 11 years without controversy."
SSENSE talks about BTS' RM and his fellow members' achievements in their long-running career as K-pop idols
On August 21, SSENSE released an article revealing an in-depth interview they had with BTS' RM and his team that brought forth the idol's second solo album, Right Place, Wrong Person. As an introduction to their article, they briefly talked about the idol and his group's achievements.
Since BTS' RM stands as the leader of the seven-piece K-pop boy group, SSENSE not only commended him for his attitude and navigation with the role but also for the several achievements he created through the same. Here's what SSENSE stated regarding the idol's achievements as BTS' leader:
"He has spoken at the UN Headquarters three times (in addition to performing there as well), been nominated for a Grammy (and performed at them too), and met President Joe Biden at the White House to discuss countermeasures against anti-Asian hate crimes."
SSENSE continued,
"More than just celebrities, RM and the other members of BTS have taken on the role of cultural ambassadors for South Korea, with RM always at the forefront. The perception that an artist must be a public figure with conviction, a clear mind, and humility, combined with South Korea's Confucian cultural traits, has gradually molded RM into an almost flawless figure."
They also stated that the idol's latest album, Right Place, Wrong Person was an effort toward creating self-validation for himself as an artist.
While BTS' RM has talked largely and deeply about love towards oneself and others, his second album showcased a different side of the idol, where he talked about the several haters in the world and his life.
