On November 25, 2024, BLACKPINK's Rosé and Bruno Mars' live performance on APT. at the 2024 MAMA Awards came under scrutiny. Some netizens accused the artists of lip-syncing to a pre-recorded backtrack during their performance. In response, many fans came forward to defend the duo.

A post went viral on the Korean online forum, TheQoo, where a netizen posted the YouTube video link of the duo's live performance from the MAMA Awards with the music recording (MR) removed. The netizen stated that one could watch the video if they think Rosé and Bruno Mars didn't sing live on stage.

Fans rushed in to defend the BLACKPINK member and the Talking To The Moon hitmaker. One fan mocked the whole "controversy" calling it "funny" and wrote on TheQoo:

Many fans also took to X to defend Rose and Bruno Mars against lip-syncing accusations.

"Their vocals are soooooooo good that some people probably thought it was lip-synced. But the second they hit this part, reality checked in, THE MIC WAS ON, BABY!!! We need more live performances from Rosé and Bruno Mars, STAT," one fan wrote.
"Not everyone can pull a live performance like this. oh rosé & bruno the talent singers u are," another fan said.
"THATS HOW YOU SING PERFORM AND HIT THE STAGE.. Y ALL HEAR HER VOICE??? NO FCKN ONE CAN TALK SHT ABOUT ROSÉ.. LIKE NEVER EVER," another fan added.

Others underscored that the duo changed the lyrics onstage and changed the vocal tones which is only possible while singing live.

"They changed the lyrics, the melody, the vocal tones….but still getting lip-sync accusations, are their ears working??," another fan remarked.
"Come on, like this is Bruno Mars we’re talking about? He wouldn’t collab with someone who couldn’t deliver a live performance," another fan wrote.
