On August 30, 2024, BTS leader Kim Namjoon, who goes by his stage name RM, stirred his fans online as he responded to a cryptic tweet by Megan Thee Stallion. Stallion tweeted on X (formerly Twitter) with emojis, hinting at a possible collaboration with BTS.
Fans speculated that the cryptic tweet could only mean a collaboration since she used an emoji of a Koala—Namjoon's representative emoji. However, the BTS fandom (ARMY) went into an online meltdown when Kim Namjoon retweeted Megan Thee Stallion's tweet with the same emojis and added "Coming Soon!"
ARMYs flooded social media with cheer and anticipation for the upcoming partnership. Some mentioned that the Mamushi singer-rapper's using a purple heart emoji was evident enough that it was a BTS collaboration since purple is associated with BTS and its fandom, ARMY.
One fan wrote on X,
