On July 18, 2024, all Stray Kids members Bang Chan, Lee Know, Changbin, Hyunjin, Han, Felix, Seungmin, and I.N renewed their contracts with JYP Entertainment. The group debuted under JYP Entertainment in 2018 with a 7-year contract till 2025. Stray Kids' group and solo contracts would have expired in early 2025.

Fans were thrilled to learn that the popular K-pop band has renewed their contracts for a second term, especially ahead of their ATE album release on July 19, 2024. One fan even wrote,

"THERE AIN'T NO LAST STEP OUT"

Fans flooded X and trended the hashtag "8 IS FATE" worldwide, celebrating the contract renewal. They wished the group with "greater joy & success" for each member.

"Thanks for everything Stray Kids! 8 is Fate! Excited to continue supporting you and cheering for you going forward because there is no last step out," — one fan wrote.
"Hooray! No surprise to me, it has been a great working relationship, they have had freedom & support to pursue their dreams. May the next years bring them even greater joy & success, for each member and the group!" — another fan added.
"Han posting this on bbl as soon as the news came out....lets stay together for a long long time stray kids," — one fan noted.

However, some fans expressed skepticism and wondered if the contract renewal was done under better negotiations in favor of the band members.

"I was really hoping for a 3RACHA Entertainment announcement ngl... Here's hoping they negotiated to be treated more fairly. I'm glad they're all staying together, tho. At least there's that, and maybe we'll get 3RACHA Ent one day. Def some mixed feelings on this one," — another fan wrote.
"It's likely for jype to not let them go given the fact they're the moneymaker of the company now so i hope the kids negotiate and talk with them to have proper solo promotions with each member," — one fan remarked.
"I hope their new contract negotiations include better promotions better management better protection more rest periods more freedom to speak their mind and just better EVERYTHINGGG," — another fan said.
"Ngl this is probably the best choice they've made. Idk how hated JYP is but they're really letting SKZ grow on their own rate. I'm thankful after what all those other agencies do to their groups," — one fan added.
