Former ADOR CEO Min Hee-jin officially spoke through a recent interview, after a Seoul District Court rejected her injunction to reinstate her position as CEO. On November 5, 2024, Joy News 24 released an interview with Min Hee-jin, where she opened up about her feud with HYBE amid the agency's internal document controversy.
She also shared why she continues to fight against the entertainment conglomerate, despite facing a financial loss since the conflict began in April 2024. As per the interview, Min Hee-jin said,
“The reason I have been spending my own money and continuing this painful and agonizing fight for months is, firstly, because there is absolutely no reason for me or NewJeans to become victims of HYBE's irrational and subversive revenge.”
She further said that she wished to expose the agency's alleged atrocities and malpractices to the world.
“Secondly, because I hope that all the atrocities and evil deeds that HYBE has committed so far will be revealed to the world and that this will serve as an opportunity for the rotten organization to reform. I hope that we can create a society where evil can no longer be covered up with money and power,” Min Hee-jin stated.
“All false and a made-up story”: Min Hee-jin talks about HYBE's audit for her dismissal as ADOR's CEO in April 2024
On April 22, 2024, HYBE Corporation launched an audit to dismiss Min Hee-jin for allegedly attempting to separate ADOR, its subsidiary label, from the parent company. On May 7, Min filed an injunction to prevent HYBE from exercising their voting rights for her dismissal as CEO. Notably, on May 30, 2024, a court rule allowed Min to keep her position as ADOR's CEO, due to a lack of evidence on HYBE's side.
Further, on November 5, in an interview with Joy News 24, Min reportedly opened up about the audit held by HYBE in April and alleged that it was illegal, saying,
“HYBE’s claims, which started with illegal audits, are all false and a made-up story. HYBE made a big fuss saying that they would start an audit on April 22nd, but the audit questionnaire that HYBE sent on the 22nd was full of absurd content fabricated with false information based on illegally obtained personal information.”
The creative director further questioned HYBE's sources and ways to obtain material for the questionnaire. She then accused the agency of using her personal information without her consent and choosing an illegal path to obtain it.
“Why did they suddenly carry out this illegal audit? I believe they are holding a grudge against me for openly pointing out and scolding Chairman Bang Si-hyuk, former CEO Park Ji-won, and Belief Lab CEO Kim Tae-ho for their various problems and mistakes in front of HYBE's management and directors. It seems they decided to target me for the audit as a low-level revenge,” she added.
Meanwhile, on August 27, ADOR dismissed Min Hee-jin as the CEO and appointed Kim Joo-young, former Chief Human Resources Officer of HYBE, as the new CEO. Min then filed an injunction to regain her position, citing that HYBE had violated the shareholders' agreement on September 13.
On October 29, the 50th Civil Agreement Division of Seoul Central District Court rejected her injunction application for reinstatement. Notably, Min Hee-jin is currently working as an in-house creative director at ADOR, responsible for NewJeans’ music, concept visualization, and production.
