On Friday, December 6, 2024, Billboard published an article on BTS member V, aka Kim Taehyung's posthumous collaboration with Bing Crosby, the single White Christmas. The article included insights from people close to the late American singer, from his professional team to family members. One of those who commented on the recent collaboration was Primary Wave’s Sarah Nekich.

Here's what she said:

“It was just too perfect, He just had a beautiful jazz-like voice that sounds very similar to a young Bing Crosby. It was a no-brainer: These two are meant to be on a song together. The fact that V was such a huge fan was so heartening to us. Until he came along, there wasn’t the right person. Because of V, Dad is going to be reaching an entirely different audience.”

On December 6, the article released by Billboard on White Christmas had several people commenting on the song's creation. The senior marketing manager, Jack LeVine, explained why the White Christmas was revived through this collaboration.

Here's what he said:

“One is: we want to make Bing the king of Christmas and holidays, every season, every year. And two is: just exciting, educating and engaging global and young audiences around Bing and his catalogue.”

LeVine also further explained that the coming together of this collaboration was harder than he had expected. While the individual pieces of the two artists worked well, connecting these two pieces took longer than he had anticipated. Additionally, the timing of the collaboration also made the process harder. He stated:

"The challenge with Christmas is no one is thinking about it in January or February."

He expressed that the collaboration began to take place around the time BTS announced their solo careers and military enlistment towards the end of 2022. LeVine explained there was a sense of urgency to complete the piece as a deadline approached. Here's what he stated:

“The BTS solo members announced that they were enlisting [in the South Korean military]. There was a new sense of urgency. We were racing against a deadline that we had no visibility into.”

The jazz and classic pop producer Gregg Field, who worked with Taehyung on the mix, also commented on the collaboration. He expressed that the song was fresh and was made for the 2024 ears. He continued to talk about how this was a perfect analogy as it gives White Christmas, an old song by Bing Crosby, a new perspective.

He also praised Taehyung for his musical qualities. Despite recording the song only a few months before his mandatory military enlistment in December, he said the idol understood who he was singing with and made smart and appropriate musical decisions.

On the other hand, Bing Crosby and BTS Taehyung's collaborative single, White Christmas, was released on December 6.
