American singer and songwriter Jennifer Lopez recently expressed her thoughts on the K-pop boy group BTS. On January 7, 2025, Jennifer Lopez appeared on Showsha by CNN News 18 alongside her co-star Jharrel Jerome, talking about her experience filming her recent film, Unstoppable.
The On The Floor singer is known to follow several celebrities on her social media, including BTS. She was asked if she had plans on collaborating with the Butter singers. Jennifer Lopez complimented the K-pop group and showed her interest in collaborating with the group.
She said,
“Yeah that would be amazing, uh they're great band. I do follow them but you're right I mean I follow a lot of people on social media but yeah I find them very interesting so funny yeah that would be a fun collaboration.”
Notably, the K-pop group is currently on a break from creating music due to the ongoing military service of members RM, Suga, Jimin, V, and Jungkook. While Jin and J-Hope have been discharged, whether the septet and Jennifer Lopez will join forces for a music release after the group’s reunion is yet to be seen.

BTS’ members RM, Suga, Jimin, V, and Jungkook currently serve in the military, except for Jin and J-Hope, the first bandmates to discharge in 2024. According to Maeil Kyungjae, Suga is reportedly fulfilling his duty in an alternative position of a social service worker.
Meanwhile, the group leader, RM, is completing his duties at the 15th Infantry Division. Jimin and Jungkook are serving together as per the buddy system at the same base at the 5th Infantry Division Artillery Brigade. With regards to V, he is currently an officer of the special military unit under the 2nd Army Corps in Chuncheon.
According to Hangkyung, Samsung Securities’ researcher Choi Min-ah weighed her opinion about BTS’ comeback after the military discharge and predicted its impact on HYBE's performance.
She said,
“This year, BTS's full group comeback and other artists' expanded activities will lead to performance growth. All BTS members will be discharged from military service in June and they will resume full group activities such as releasing albums in the second half of the year.”
She added about Jin and J-Hope's solo activities in the first half of this year. She said,
"In the first half of this year, Jin and J-Hope, who have already been discharged, will be active in various fields to warm up for a full group comeback.”
On Tuesday, January 7, 2025, Jennifer Lopez's Unstoppable film screening in Los Angeles was abruptly called off due to the increasing wildfire in California. According to HELLO!, an official confirmed the cancellation of the theater screening.
They said,
“In light of today’s safety concerns around heightened wind activity and fire outbreaks in Los Angeles, we regret to inform you that we are cancelling tonight’s premiere of UNSTOPPABLE.”
Unstoppable is a sport drama film depicting the autobiography of the differently abled American wrestler Anthony Robles, played by Jharrel Jerome. Anthony Robles was born with one leg and chased his dream of wrestling by winning a national wrestling championship for the State of Arizona. In the film, Jennifer Lopez portrays the role of Judy Robles, Anthony Robles's mother.
Unstoppable, starring Jennifer Lopez and Jharrel Jerome, is set to be released on the OTT platform Prime Video on Thursday, January 16, 2025.
