On January 9, 2025, Billboard released a cover shoot with BLACKPINK's Jennie, featuring an exclusive interview. The interview also included insights from Jennie's manager and Odd Atelier head Alison Chang, who mentioned BLACKPINK's comeback in 2025.

“It’s been a long process because American artists, they usually take a few years to make one album, but we have time limitations because [this year] she’s got to go back into Blackpink activities again,” Alison Chang stated.

BLACKPINK's fans were overjoyed with the latest news of the girl group’s reunion in 2025. As a result, their fans flooded the internet with enthusiasm for their comeback. To express this, one user on X stated:

“THEY’RE REALLY COMING BACK!”

While some said they were “so excited,” others were trying to figure out when they would come together.

“PLEASE I WANNA SCREAM SO MUCH, I'M SO EXCITED,” a fan commented.
“I want a blackpink comeback too but can we get a solo album tour before she returns to group activities,” another fan wrote.
“We already got at least 50 confirmations that the Pinks are coming back But, it’s always reassuring tbh,” commented an admirer.

Some fans were unsure whether the group was indeed making a comeback this year, given previous claims of its return.

“That means my guess is right, they will start preparing after Coachella/ after April. Because Jisoo's drama is rumored to finish filming in April too. If you look at the confirmed CB treasure schedule for July/August It could be BP after them,” stated another fan.
“I’m pretty sure rosé also put on one of her posts smthng about coming back together this year,I can’t wait to see them!,” commented another user on X.
“That's such exciting news! Jennie's solo era has been incredible, but the anticipation for BLACKPINK's return as a group in 2025 must be through the roof,” a follower stated.

During the Billboard interview, Alison Chang also revealed how BLACKPINK's Jennie’s debut solo album has been a time-consuming process. She explained that Jennie wanted to showcase her artistry through her solo record, so they met numerous producers and writers during the production process. Even BLACKPINK's Jennie's pre-album release, Mantra, took a long time to produce.

“She really wanted to show her artistry through this album, and in the beginning, we were meeting producers and writers who she didn’t really match with. I think finding her sound throughout this process was kind of hard, and landing with ‘Mantra,’ that took a very long time. Just finding that first perfect single to let the world know this is the start of her solo career,” Alison Chang said.

Additionally, BLACKPINK's Jennie expressed her enthusiasm for the prospective comeback. She stated that their fans will witness the group in their most powerful forms, having evolved significantly via their solo journeys.

“I’ve missed the girls. I’ve missed doing tours with them. I miss our silly moments. I’m excited to see what everyone brings. You know, everyone took their own journey [during] this time, and I’m excited to share that with the girls. I want to say it’s going to be the most powerful [versions] of ourselves that anyone has seen.”

On October 11, 2024, BLACKPINK's Jennie dropped her pre-release single Mantra. Her complete album is likely to come out in 2025 as indicated by her on several instances. As of this writing, the MV of Mantra has over 128 million views on YouTube.
