On Tuesday, December 17, BLACKPINK's Jisoo took to her Bubble account to address the recent rumors that landed on the internet. Previously, the idol was rumored to sit on the performance lineup for the 2025 EMPIRE MUSIC FESTIVAL in Hong Kong. One other idol who was rumored to be a part of the lineup was BIGBANG's G-Dragon.

While the official lineup of the concert has not yet been revealed, BLACKPINK's Jisoo stepped forward to end the rumors. She clarified that she wasn't a part of the lineup. While she's been preparing some content for their fans, the 2025 EMPIRE MUSIC FESTIVAL in Hong Kong wasn't one of them. Here's what her Bubble message read:
“I heard a rumour about some kind of performance happening all of a sudden..? LOL, thought I should quickly let you know it’s not true, so I rushed over here!! We’re planning things to meet BLINK, but that’s not it! What even is that..? Once something is decided and confirmed, I’ll probably be so excited that I’ll come tell you right away. Just wait for a little, we’ll see each other soon”
Following Jisoo's message, several fans were disappointed that the rumors were untrue. Additionally, fans also couldn't help but think that the music festival organizers might have kickstarted these rumors to garner more attention to the 2025 EMPIRE MUSIC FESTIVAL. BLACKPINK's Jisoo, or Kim Ji-soo, is a South Korean singer who debuted under YG Entertainment in 2016 with her fellow group members. The idol stands as the visual and vocalist of the K-pop girl group. However, she has also established a solo career for herself in March 2023 with the release of her solo debut album, Me. The album held the song Flower as its title track.
On the other hand, she and her fellow group members terminated their solo contracts with YG Entertainment in December 2023 following the contract expiration. Therefore, the members either started their own agencies or joined other labels for solo promotions. Regardless, the members' contract as BLACKPINK still stands true under YG Entertainment.
