The owner of Garam Coffee Roasters in South Korea recently shared a special encounter with BTS’ RM. On September 26, 2024, the cafe's owner revealed that the idol had visited the shop and signed one of their coffee cups.
According to the cafe's Instagram post, Namjoon mentioned that he frequently visits their shop and complimented the owner on the great job they were doing. The owner playfully confessed that they forgot to offer him a free dessert due to nervousness.
Fans were quick to praise RM for his humility and kindness. Some noted that the coffee shop would be frequented by BTS fans now.
“Now that place gonna be tourist spot,” a fan expressed their desire to visit the cafe.
“Putting this on my Korea cafe list,” another fan wrote.
A fan shared that just like the cafe owner, they would feel star-stuck if they came face to face with the BTS leader. Expressing this sentiment, the fan wrote:
“If it were me…would I be able to even utter a single word? Maybe I would but I know my heart would be beating so hard and he might hear it."
“What a sweet moment,” another fan exclaimed.
RM visits a cafe amid his active military service
The owner of Garam Coffee Roasters wrote in an Instagram post that RM told them that he comes to their cafe often but the owner never recognized him. The owner, who was caught off-guard by the idol, didn't initially catch what he said, so Namjoon politely repeated it twice.
While sharing the photo of Namjoon's signed coffee cup, the shop owner described him as someone who speaks in a beautiful style.
This incident has resonated with many BTS fans who reposted this post on their social media handles. As per Garam Coffee Roasters's Instagram stories, some fans visited the cafe and left Namjoon's photocards with them to show their appreciation for the star.
Kim Namjoon is currently serving his mandatory military enlistment in the South Korean army. He enlisted on December 11, 2023, and is expected to be discharged on June 10, 2025. It appears that he visited the coffee shop on his rare off day from the military.
Namjoon's second studio album Right Place, Wrong Person released on May 24, 2024. His documentary RM: Right People, Wrong Place, which documents the journey of making the album, is all set to premiere at the 2024 Busan International Film Festival.
