Fans of the rookie K-pop group Close Your Eyes (CYE) expressed outrage and concern following an incident at Incheon International Airport on January 3, 2025, where a sasaeng (anti-fan) posing as a security personnel allegedly harassed members of the group.

On January 3, 2025, CYE made its inaugural public appearance at Incheon International Airport, en route to Fukuoka, Japan, for the 39th Golden Disc Awards. The event attracted a large crowd of fans eager to catch a glimpse of the new idols.

Amid the commotion, an individual impersonating a security officer reportedly infiltrated the group's entourage. This person allegedly made unauthorized physical contact with several members, especially Ma Jing Xiang, causing discomfort and raising serious concerns about the effectiveness of security measures in place to protect artists.

News of the incident quickly spread across social media platforms, with fans expressing their anger and demanding better protection for CYE. Many criticized the lack of adequate security protocols, especially given the group's rookie status and the potential vulnerabilities associated with it. One fan wrote on X:

"This is so disgusting and I really pray the company takes some sort of legal action and tightens up their security."

The harassment of Close Your Eyes at Incheon International Airport highlighted significant security lapses that needed to be addressed promptly. Fans lashed out at UNCORE for providing poor security to the rookie K-pop group at their debut airport appearance.

"The security was really poor and it was embarrassing. Several of the guys got caught between the fans and their cell phones were literally on their cheeks, but they kept waving and smiling just by looking at it. It was uncomfortable for me because with luck they could move on," one fan wrote.
"This is actually so weird, like wtf is wrong with them. uncore do better and hire more bodyguards, this is not normal," another fan wrote.
"You are crazy this is NOT normal behavior you should be ashamed," another fan lashed out.

They also demanded stricter protection details for CYE.

"CYE are still pre-debut and their company is already failing at protecting them! I hate this. The minors in the group were also being shoved around," another fan expressed.
"Damn are they even signed now with uncore... these shouldn't happen again like tf is going on," one other fan stated.

Close Your Eyes, often abbreviated as CYE, is a seven-member boy group formed through JTBC's survival show, Project 7. The show aired from October 18 to December 27, 2024, culminating in the selection of the final lineup: Jeon Min-wook, Ma Jing Xiang, Jang Yeo-jun, Kim Sung-min, Song Seung-ho, Sakurada Kenshin, and Seo Kyoung-bae.

Managed by UNCORE, a company established by SLL and YG PLUS, CYE is set to make its official debut in 2025.

Meanwhile, the 39th Golden Disc Awards, originally scheduled for January 4 and 5, 2025, at the Mizuho PayPay Dome in Fukuoka, Japan, were postponed due to the Jeju Air tragedy.

On December 29, 2024, a Jeju Air flight from Bangkok to Muan International Airport crashed, resulting in the deaths of 179 passengers, including the flight crew. In light of this disaster, South Korea declared a seven-day mourning period, leading to the rescheduling of various events, including the Golden Disc Awards.

The 39th Golden Disc Awards will be held on January 4 and 5 but has been rescheduled to air on JTBC channels from January 6 to 7, 2025.
