NewJeans fans have recently been criticizing HYBE LABELS for adding the girl group to the upcoming season's greetings merchandise pop-up store. NewJeans and ADOR, a subsidiary label under the HYBE corporation, are in a legal battle. The girl group terminated its contract with ADOR at a press conference on November 28, 2024.

NewJeans accused ADOR of breaching the contract terms, and as a result, they terminated the agreement and left the company. However, ADOR profusely stated that the contract was still valid. On December 5, the company filed a legal complaint against the singers at the Seoul court to confirm the contract's validity.

The girl group started a new social media page named @jeanzforfree, presumably rebranding themselves as “jeanz.” The singers have reportedly continued with advertisement and brand endorsement separately, not associating with ADOR.

Amidst the legal battle, on December 23, HYBE LABELS announced the 2025 Season's Greetings merchandise pop-up store installation on NewJeans' official social media. The pop-up store will include merchandise from other groups affiliated with the label, such as BTS, TXT, LE SSERAFIM, SEVENTEEN, and others.

This has angered fans who are accusing HYBE of generating profits through the group's name while filing a lawsuit against the

“HYBE, stop. This is just shameless," a fan said.
“they realized that subsidiary company wont be making any money without leeching off the girls’ works,” a fan added.
“This is shameless, they are clearly using nj name to advertise other hybe artists. What a circus,” a user said.

Fans continued to criticize the label for including the group in the Season's Greetings pop-up store.

“You media play on Hanni's visa status, and now you ask for the fandom's support? Y'all delusional K-Tokkis would buy sht from you,” a user commented.
“This fan account for our favorite indie artist Jeanzforfree has been very weird lately. Please unfollow,” another user commented.

Fans urged fellow Bunnies to boycott and avoid purchasing merch from the agency.

“Go and take pictures but when you do only tag JEANZFORFREE and don’t buy anything if you’re a true tokki,” a user reacted.
“Dont go to the pop up store it will only give hybe money so they can keep paying the media for defamation to ruin the girls image,” a fan said.
“Bunny, please stop supporting and buy any products under the newjeans brand that are produced by unofficial entertainment like HYPE/ADOR,” a fan stated.
