Recently, SHINee's Minho appeared on a Korean live streaming show where he won hearts with his feminist views and approach to childcare. The SHINee member appeared on the streamer's live broadcast to promote his latest solo album, CALL BACK, released on November 5, 2024.

In a clip posted on X on November 6, by user @mingdam99, the streaming host revealed that he rarely helps his wife with childcare after they had a baby. As soon as Minho heard this, the singer reacted by asserting that men should equally contribute to taking care of the child.

The streamer explained that since he is busy with livestreaming, he doesn't get time to help his wife. The streamer added that he sleeps for 10 hours every day to avoid getting stressed, to which Minho jokingly tried to smack his head. The SHINee member told him that he should help his wife no matter what.

The singer added that the streamer was using his work as an "excuse" to "escape from doing all that work" at home and said:

"Nah, this isn't it! you should contribute during the in between time too, you rascal! It feels like you're here (doing these live streams) in order to escape from doing all that work, but anyway, listen, from time to time you have to contribute and help out with childcare too!"

The clip from the livestream went viral online as netizens praised Minho's views on family and childcare. One fan hailed him as "a walking green flag" and wrote on X:

"replace all the korean incels with choi minho. Its not even about his visuals anymore. this man is just a walking green flag"

The CALL BACK singer was praised for his thoughtfulness and belief that raising a child is equally a man's job.

"Going viral in kr for being a feminist & scolding a man for acting like childcare is not an equal job and a woman's responsibility. oh Minho, the man you are," one fan wrote.
"That time when someone said Minho was just a basic average korean man and then a korean tweeted "IF THE CHOI MINHO WAS AVERAGE KOREAN MEN, KOREA’S BIRTH RATE WOULDN’T BE THAT LOW". They were so real for that," another fan commented.
"Minho being the finest, hottest, gentle, and now a feminist man too. that one qrt saying a birth rate in kr wouldn't be THAT low if the average kr man is like minho will always stay relevant even for YEARS," another fan said.

Others mentioned how SHINee has always been the K-pop group that always advocated women's empowerment, women's rights, and more.

"Shinee were taking care of children and working as idols when they were teenagers and this man can't stream and do the minimum to take care of his son???" one fan wrote.
"A flamer since 2012. Ik a lot are surprised but he's always been like this. Women and kids always felt safe with him. SNSD has basically adopted him," another fan mentioned.
"It's time for you kpop stans to stop sleeping on minho and shinee in general. They're are one of the few groups where all their members have spoken for women's rights or important matters in general. They're not only super talented but only amazing people. They SHOULD be more famous," another fan added.

A look at SHINee's legacy and achievements in the K-pop industry

SHINee debuted under SM Entertainment in May 2008 with the single Replay, and originally composed of members Onew, Jonghyun, Key, Minho, and Taemin. The group released hits like Ring Ding Dong, Lucifer, and Sherlock among others. Songs like Sherlock employed innovative 'hybrid remix' production techniques, blending two different songs into one.

They’ve held numerous international tours and were among the first K-pop groups to hold solo concerts across Asia, Europe, and North America. Their Japan debut album, The First, went platinum, solidifying their status in Japan and paving the way for more Korean acts to follow.

Over their career, SHINee has received numerous awards, including several Mnet Asian Music Awards (MAMA), Melon Music Awards, and Golden Disk Awards. Albums like The Misconceptions of Us and Odd topped South Korean and international charts, with Odd hitting #1 on Billboard’s World Albums chart.

However, in December 2017 SHINee's Jonghyun passed away. Despite the tragedy, the remaining members chose to continue performing, dedicating their work to Jonghyun's memory.

Their 2021 comeback album, Don’t Call Me, saw widespread success. Members also made notable solo ventures, with Taemin in particular achieving significant solo success with Guilty (2023) and Eternal (2024). While Onew, Key, and Minho have also ventured into acting and variety shows. Minho starred in the latest K-dramas like The Fabulous (2022) and Romance in the House (2024).

In May 2023, the group celebrated their 15th debut anniversary.
