ENHYPEN's Jungwon hinted at an upcoming album on the YouTube show K-Star Next Door, resulting in fans slamming BELIFT LAB for the group's alleged hectic schedule. On August 27, Jungwon, Heeseung, and Jake from ENHYPEN appeared on the K-Star Next Door recently, after their schedule in Los Angeles.
This sparked a discussion online, as it is unusual for K-pop idols to appear on talk shows when there is no album or music promotion. Notably, they are currently on their FATE PLUS TOUR in Japan.
When Jonathan asked the members if they were working on a new album, Jungwon agreed. He said,
“Yes, we're always working on our album. When we finish performing, we shouldn't just take a break, but prepare for the next album. We're always preparing ourselves for our fans who wait for us.”
This made fans and netizens furious, given that ENHYPEN recently dropped their latest album Romance: Untold on July 12, 2024. They expressed their disappointment in BELIFT LAB for allegedly making the K-pop band work hard without resting.
“This is so upsetting…everyone deserves a break we are all human. we can’t keep going going going all the time it leads to burn out”, a fan said.
“Pls belift/hybe are manipulating them for thinking they shouldn't take a break bcs fans are waiting for them like..???”, another fan added.
“Idk what belift put up with them, to have this mentality where rest and a little break isnt involved.”, a user said.
Netizens continued to criticize the agency as they believed that ENHYPEN was deprived of necessary rest.
“You have no idea how anxious I get every time I see them on my timeline. you can literally feel their exhaustion through the screen. they need a break before they collapse one by one, and what was once their passion turns into a source of distress.”, a user commented.
“Belift has truly brainwashed these poor boys into thinking they’re not allowed to take a break and they have to work 24/7 and yet some of you still dont get why we need to boycott this fuckass company #LetEnhypenRest”, a fan wrote.
“Belift has really brainwashed enha to the fact that they haven't realized how much they are neglecting rest :(( this isn't normal at all”, a user stated.
Netizens wished for the idols to slow down and rest well as ENHYPEN's health is their priority.
“I wish they knew it's okay to slow down and take a break. i'm worried about them and their healths”, a user commented.
“They need to know that we want them to rest. It’s okay to take a break, engenes want for them to have a break", a fan said.
“They are doing so much for us, but all I want is for them to rest”, a fan wrote.
ENHYPEN's Jay absent from recent Japan concerts due to health issues
On August 24, BELIFT LAB issued an official statement regarding Jay's health conditions which made him miss out on the FATE PLUS concerts in Aichi. The agency stated that due to sudden fever, Jay had to be rushed to hospital, and upon examination, it was found out that he was diagnosed with the flu.
They further stated,
“Despite the artist's strong desire to participate in scheduled performances the medical team has advised JAY to rest extensively. Regrettably, this means that he cannot perform at the ENHYPEN WORLD TOUR “FATE PLUS” IN JAPAN - Aichi. We ask you for your kind and generous understanding.”
It is yet to be seen whether Jay will attend the Miyagi concerts on August 31 and September 1, 2024. BELIFT LAB has not made any further statements yet.
