On September 30, 2024, BIGHIT MUSIC announced its hip-hop training program 'HIT IT BASE 2024' for teenage male participants. Applicants should be born between 2006 to 2014 to apply for this free program.

Star News reported that from November 9 to December 15, 2024, the selected applicants will study song production techniques, stage preparation, style, etc. from professionals. Following the program's conclusion, they will participate in the 'Final Show,' similar to other K-pop talent shows like I-Land, Pop Star Academy, and more.

Male candidates can apply online via the official BIGHIT MUSIC website between September 30 to October 27, 2024. The finale of 'HIT IT BASE 2024' will be hosted by YouTuber Mimi Minu. Outstanding candidates will be provided an opportunity to be featured on Rising Verse on Dingo Music's YouTube channel, Dingo's Freestyle. Additionally, rapper Kid Milli will be a special guest on the 'Final Show' or the finale.

Meanwhile, netizens were left with mixed reactions to learn that kids aged 10 years could also apply. Some raised concerns about kids getting into the entertainment business of K-pop which is known for its brutal training and strict rules. One X user wrote,

"2006 - 2014 ??? Those are kids."

Several fans mentioned the worrisome environment of K-pop being unfit for 10-year-old kids.

"How about we move the years down to 2000 and 2009…. Children should not be exposed to these type of environments," wrote one fan.
"I will refrain from hearting this until I see more details. Right now from what I read it is more of a mentorship rather than a competition show. I personally would like to see where the participants at the start and their progress. Perhaps a showcase at the show's conclusion." said another fan.
"Why such young kids?? 2009-2014 is way too young for this, kpop needs a revamp istg." stated another fan.

On the other hand, several other fans expressed their enthusiasm for the show and the upcoming new generation of K-pop idols, with some joking about the year cutoffs.

"That sounds like a fantastic opportunity! Excited to see the young talent that emerges from Big Hit Music's ‘HIT IT BASE 2024’ program!" wrote one user.
"Got moves and flows? Then let’s go! HIT IT BASE is where legends grow!" said another user.
Why are all the cutoffs 2006. is it time to give up on the idol dream??" said another fan.
