In May 2023, dating rumors about BTS' Kim Taehyung and BLACKPINK's Jennie surfaced when a French photographer, Amar Taoualit, shared a clip on X, claiming they were spotted in Paris. In a recent interview with Sabo Production, Taoualit said he was outside CELINE in Paris when a K-pop fan told him that Taehyung was in the city. He later saw Taehyung near the River Seine, allegedly holding hands with Jennie and taking pictures.

Amar Taoualit stated that he took pictures of them and videos and sent them to his friend for verification. Reportedly, he clicked those pictures on May 15, 2023, and posted them on May 17. He claimed that he refused every request from the Korean media to use those pictures, however, he received hate messages from K-pop fans.

"I started getting messages every 2 seconds. There were some insulting me, ‘Why did you post them?’ There were some who said ‘Finally, the truth came out.’ I didn’t understand the couple because I wasn’t following this at all, for me it was a video of stars."

The interview with Sabo Production was aired on August 17, 2024, however, Koreaboo reported on August 27, since Amar Taoualit continued to claim that it was BTS' Taehyung and BLACKPINK's Jennie. The K-pop community reacted to the news once again.

"I thought this was over wtf," one X user wrote.

Others stated that they would not believe anyone other than the BTS and BLACKPINK idols.

"No way people are actually believing HIM of all people wahaha no, you and your fandom want it to be real. Man did nothing because there’s nothing real. Also acting as if my boy didn’t get as much as hate. This doesn’t really prove a thing," one X user stated.
"Why would I believe this man more than thv himself," another X user wrote.
"How are y’all more concerned about if taennie is real than the fact that this man is a crazy stalker? The way he’s describing his journey to stalk them is scary," another X user added.

Some fans expressed their delight at the possibility of Jennie and Taehyung's alleged connection.

"Okay so everyone thought those two were cosplayers and not Jennie and V? Wbk those were them but it was either mediaplay or nothing serious," one X user wrote.
"Ok why you're blaming th for it. Both sides acted very weird about this whole thing btw. Both armys & blinks acted like a bunch of parasocial clowns. Anyways now that it's confirmed (I never doubted it anyways) can taennie get back together?? They were so good together omg," another X user added.
"This reporter definitely did his big one because when that video of them holding hands hit the internet…kinda iconic ngl," another X user said.
