On September 24, 2024, advance ticket sales for BTS leader Kim Nam-joon's documentary, RM: Right People, Wrong Place, began at 10 AM KST. According to a report from South Korean media outlet Dispatch, the tickets for the documentary's premiere at the 29th Busan International Film Festival were highly demanded and all seats were immediately sold out upon release.

The documentary is part of the festival's "Open Cinema" section and is scheduled to be showcased at the outdoor theatre of the Haeundae-gu Film Archive on October 7, 2024, ahead of a larger-scale screening event.

Helmed by director Lee Seok-jun, the 80-minute documentary offers a behind-the-scenes look at the creation of RM's second solo album, Right Place, Wrong Person.

The film captures the artist's journey over eight months, documenting key moments in his personal and professional life leading up to his military enlistment in December 2023.

The 29th Busan International Film Festival (BIFF) will take place from October 2 to 11, 2024, featuring a wide array of films across 28 screens in seven theatres.

The 29th Busan International Film Festival (BIFF) is scheduled to take place from October 2 to 11, 2024, across 28 screens at seven different theatres.

The festival will be hosted at prominent locations such as the Busan Cinema Center, CGV Centum City, LOTTE CINEMA Centum City, and KOFIC Theater.

Additionally, screenings will be available at MEGABOX Busan Cinema, the Busan Museum of Movies, and the Hansung 1918 Busan Lifestyle Culture Center.

At a press event on September 3, 2024, held at the Korea Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Seoul, festival programmer Kang So-won discussed how RM's documentary's unique perspective sets it apart from other Korean films, promising a novel experience for attendees.

BTS’s agency BIGHIT also unveiled a 1:47-minute trailer for RM: Right People, Wrong Place, which provided a sneak peek into the film.

In the trailer, RM reflects on his journey and personal growth, sharing his thoughts on authenticity and moving forward. He stated,

"I think that's why I felt that way. The bridges are burnt I can't go back there anyway. I thought I knew where I was going when I came here, but I didn’t? You know, just be more honest and frank and just be real, be me".

BIGHIT also announced that the documentary will be shown in cinemas around the world. Details about global ticket sales for the film will be disclosed at a future date.


Kang So-won further noted that although RM, who is currently serving in the military, will not be attending the festival, the film's director and other key team members will be present to engage with the audience.
