For those who may not know, A B-side track refers to a secondary song on a single or EP, also known as the "flip-side." The term comes from the vinyl record era, where records had an A-side (the main song) and a B-side (the secondary track). While A-sides were promoted heavily, some B-sides have achieved notable success.

Fans of the idol turned to social media to praise him for breaking records while still in the military. On X, user @iconicishe marked this achievement as a truly "iconic" moment in the music industry, writing,

On September 8, 2024, BTS' Kim Tae-hyung, also known as V, made his solo debut with the release of his first album Layover. The album, which came out just months before his military enlistment, features six tracks accompanied by its music video:

Love Me Again, was a pre-release track released on August 10, 2023, along with Rainy Days. Since its debut, the music video has accumulated an impressive 102 million views on YouTube as of the time of writing this article, making it Taehyung’s third video to reach this milestone, alongside Winter Bear and Sweet Night.

Upon its release, the track set a record for being the fastest music video by a male artist to garner 2 million views in just 22 minutes in 2023. Following the album's release, the singer's tracks saw strong performances on multiple music charts. Oricon announced that Rainy Days and Love Me Again secured the No. 1 and No. 2 spots on its daily digital singles chart, respectively.

Both songs also made impressive debuts on Spotify’s Global Top Songs chart, with Love Me Again entering at No. 10 after earning 3.77 million filtered streams on its first day, and Rainy Days landing at No. 12 with 3.57 million streams.

Furthermore, both songs reached the No. 1 position on the iTunes Top Songs charts in several countries, including major markets like the United States, the United Kingdom, Japan, Germany, and France.


Taehyung is currently fulfilling his duties in the South Korean military’s Special Duty Team (SDT). He and the other group members are anticipated to make their comeback in 2025 after completing their mandatory service.
