On July 20, 2024, tvN announced that TVING and tvn drama YouTube channels were hacked due to an external hacking attack. During the incident, multiple unrelated contents were uploaded, and some clips related to Lovely Runner, Queen of Tears, disappeared following the hacking. "Hello, this is tvN. In the early morning of Saturday, July 20, 2024, an incident occurred on the tvN Drama YouTube channel where the channel name was changed, and the unrelated content was uploaded due to an external hacking attack."

tvN and TVING Youtube Channels were recovered
TVING and tvN Drama official YouTube channels fell victim to external hacking, and their channel names were replaced with the word Ripple. All the official videos of the hit romance and comedy dramas, including Lovely Runner and Queen of Tears, vanished from the channels.
Following the unexpected hacking, TVING released the official statement through their X account, where they updated the viewers that they were aware of the severe consequences of the incident. They promised to do their best for the restoration and recovery of the hacked YouTube channels. TVING mentioned:
"We would like to inform you about the issue of the TVING YouTube Channel changing its channel name due to an external hacking attack on Saturday, July 20, 2024. TVING is aware of the channel hacking and is working with YouTube to resolve the issues. We will do our best to quickly restore the channel. Please be careful not to click on posts with suspicious videos or links and be especially careful to avoid any damage."
Subsequently, following the recovery of TVING's official YouTube channel, the streaming platform issued another statement. The streaming platform disclosed that the restoration of the TVING YouTube channel was completed, and they apologized for the inconvenience.
"We would like to inform you that the TVING YouTube channel's name was changed on Saturday, July 20, 2024, due to an external hacking attack, and the restoration of the TVING, channel has been completed and normalized through cooperation with YouTube. We apologize for the inconvenience caused to subscribers who may have been surprised by the sudden change in channel name and content and we apologize for your understanding," the statement read.
Additionally, tvN also revealed on July 20, 2024, through its official X and Instagram account, where they stated that their YouTube channel was recovered. The broadcasting channel stated:
"Thanks to YouTube's cooperation, all channel lists, including restoration of existing videos, have been normalized."
