Actor and singer Jung Jin-young shared a picture of himself with a cake on Instagram on August 3, hinting that they have completed shooting for the upcoming drama You Are the Apple of My Eye. The post also urged fans to look forward to the upcoming project, which is a Korean adaptation of the Taiwanese film of the same name.
In his Instagram caption, Jin-young wrote:
"Back in the day, crank up the girl we used to like! Please look forward to it~ You are the apple of my eye."
The film, produced by Studio Take and scheduled for release in 2025, features Kim Da-hyun and Jung Jin-young in leading roles. It is produced by Song Dae-chan, known for his works on A Man of Reason by Jung Woo-sung, which premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival in 2022, and Broker by Hirokazu Kore-eda, which participated in the Cannes Film Festival in 2022.

In the upcoming drama, TWICE member Kim Da-hyun plays Seon-ah, and Jung Jin-young plays Jin-woo, who rejects any feelings of desire for the popular school beauty, Seon-ah. But soon, after their teacher asks them to sit together, they start to fall in love. Their divergent personalities and worldviews thereafter appear to cause problems for their partnership.
The story follows the journey of Jin-woo, a troubled student, and Seon-ah, a model pupil, as they encounter some regrets and learn some valuable lessons. The character of Da-hyun is similar to Shen Chia Yi from the original Taiwanese film, while the character of Jung Jin-young is similar to Ko Ching Teng.
In addition, director Cho Young-myoung, who helmed a few short films like 202 201, Magwon, and more will make her feature debut with the Korean remake of You Are the Apple of My Eye. On June 25, 2011, the Taiwanese film You Are the Apple of My Eye made its global premiere at the 13th Taipei Film Festival.
On August 19, 2011, it was distributed in Taiwanese theaters. The film broke box office records in Taiwan, Hong Kong, and Singapore after receiving positive reviews from critics. For his role in the movie, Ko Chen-tung took home the Golden Horse Awards' Best New Performer trophy.

The former boy group leader of B1A4 has dabbled with acting before. With their first EP, Let's Fly, he debuted in April 2011 as the lead vocalist and leader of B1A4. The ensemble has achieved significant economic and critical success in Japan and South Korea. He starred in the drama She Is Wow in April 2013, marking his professional acting debut.
Jin-young started concentrating more on his acting, and at the 2016 KBS Drama Awards, he even took home the Best New Actor trophy. His roles in Sweet Home, The Dude in Me, and Love in the Moonlight have made him well-known.
While Da-hyun has not appeared in a drama or film yet, this project won't be the Twice member's first acting role. She is slated to make her acting debut in Lee Seung-hoon's sports drama Sprint, as announced by JYP in May.
