BTS' Jungkook’s song Seven (explicit version) was certified Platinum by the RIAJ (Recording Industry Association of Japan) on September 27, 2024. This means the song has surpassed 100 million streams in the RIAJ's streaming category. Previously, the clean version of Seven had already achieved this certification.

Fans have celebrated this accomplishment by trending several phrases on social media platform X (Twitter), showing excitement and pride in the idol's record-breaking achievement. One fan wrote,

"Jungkook is unstoppable"
“Excellent recognition, well done JK,” a fan added.
"Another recognition for Jungkook and his song" said another fan.
“The way he is loved in Japan,” a third fan expressed.

Some other fans called the song a "global hit" and wrote,

“Queen Seven King Jungkook,” another fan said.
“Seven the global hit,” a fan added.
“Wow this is so amazing!” a third fan exclaimed.

Both versions of Jungkook's Seven are officially platinum certified by RIAJ

The Recording Industry Association of Japan (RIAJ) is a prominent trade organization representing Japan's music industry. Its primary mission is to protect and promote music and sound recording rights throughout Japan.

One of the RIAJ's key roles is to certify music sales for albums, singles, and digital downloads, which provides a crucial metric of an artist's success in Japan. Certification levels range from Gold to Million, depending on sales or streaming figures, making these achievements highly coveted among artists globally.

RIAJ certifications are especially significant in Japan, which ranks among the largest music markets in the world. Earning these certifications often signals a strong presence and success in the region.

The latest notable addition to the RIAJ certified list is BTS' Jungkook's song Seven(explicit version), which recently achieved "Platinum certification" for surpassing 100 million streams. This follows the clean version of the same song, which had already reached Platinum.

Currently, BTS has become the most-certified foreign act in Japan, holding 44 certifications. The idol's solo efforts and contributions to BTS' music have added significantly to this tally.

A comprehensive list of RIAJ-certified songs associated with him includes:

Songs performed as a soloist:

  1. Seven (feat. Latto) - Clean Version - Platinum
  2. Seven (feat. Latto) - Explicit Version - Platinum
  3. Left and Right - Gold
  4. 3D - Gold
  5. Euphoria (solo song under BTS) - Platinum

Album Certification:

  1. GOLDEN - Platinum

Songs co-composed:

  1. Your Eyes Tell - Platinum
  2. Magic Shop - Gold
  3. Film Out - Platinum

In addition to this RIAJ milestone, the BTS star's Seven recently surpassed 1.7 billion streams on the Global Spotify Chart, becoming the first and only song by an Asian artist to achieve this feat.

In other recent news, on September 25, the idol's latest documentary, I AM STILL, was 'Verified Hot' at 100% on the Popcornmeter by Rotten Tomatoes.
