The first trailer of Are You Sure?! was rolled out on BANGTANTV on July 12 KST, packing a bunch of adventure and fun with BTS' Jimin and Jungkook. The duo was seen on a lavish yacht gazing at the Jeju Island sky, bike-riding, goofing around in the rain, diving underwater, and more in the 38-second-long snippet.
However, scenes from the same are making fans wonder if fellow bandmate V will also join the two on their trip.
Announced on July 3, by BigHit Music, the new variety show, Are You Sure?!, captures Jungkook and Jimin having the time of their lives on a carefree vacation, ahead of their military enlistment. As the trip is described to be made with zero plans, Jimin was even caught saying at the start of the clip,
"We talked before about making a video of traveling together before starting the military service."
At the same time, adding further anticipation, fans have also noticed that certain scenes from their Jeju Island getaway seemed quite similar to some snapshots posted by V earlier when the three were on a trip together.
They even sported the same outfits from the show's trailer. Another telling similarity is how Kim Taehyung aka V also shared a picture of a Jeju Island sunset on Chuseok (Korean Thanksgiving Day) last year, fanning the theories even more.
Fans were quick to recall, that the trio— affectionately termed VMINKOOK— in the pictures was even seen taking a breather at a restaurant on the same Jeju Island trip. Seeing the timings and facts overlapping, fans wonder if BTS' V will be making a cameo in the duo's journey.
While the facts remain unverified, the clues likely point to the same. Fans even speculate if the Layover artist is a surprise element currently behind the curtain.
Meanwhile, reacting to the similarities, a fan expressed their wonder on X saying,
"VMINKOOK IN JEJU ISLAND?!"
BTS' V was further dubbed "THE SPOILER KING" as fans pondered if he already dropped hints unbeknownst to them,
"#Taehyung posted this on Chuseok. The same sunset view, the same rock & the a boat can be seen on the picture. Also shared Vminkook trip photos from an Indian restaurant 'Cafe Chai' nestled in the picturesque Jiju Island. COINCIDENCE?? HE HAS ALWAYS BEEN THE SPOILER KING," read a comment.
"Maknae line reunites," a post said.
"OMG TAETAE CAMEO," another netizen wrote.
"Guys just remember to act surprised when Tae makes a guest appearance," an X-user added.
"It would be so great seeing vmk together, i hope we atleast get one ep with him there," commented another fan.
BTS' Jungkook and Jimin share an impromptu trip with abandon in Are You Sure?! before their conscription
In the exclusive launch trailer, BTS' Jimin and Jungkook were seen joking around about naming the new show. Jimin suggested the title, "Feeling Free" while hilariously admitting, "I feel free indeed", as Jungkook named it "Getaway No. 1" as a welcome escape from reality.
In the show itself, the BTS vocalists are set to be involved in a plethora of activities like kayaking, snorkeling, camping, setting out on a road trip, and more. In clips from them snowboarding, the duo seemed to find it difficult to keep their balance as they slipped on the snow.
The tone of the program has been set as light-hearted in the English-subtitled trailer as BTS' Jungkook asked the FACE singer, "What are you doing, Jimin? Are you sure about this?" referring to the trip. To that, the latter replied, "I was questioning it for a second."
Additionally, the duo is seen asking several times "Why am I doing this?" and "Are you sure?" to one another about the show. Fans cannot help but laugh at their antics and eagerly await the arrival of the episodes to witness their bond and friendship.
Following the BTS members on their journey kicking off in the United States to Jeju Island and Sapporo in Japan, Are You Sure?! will feature eight episodes. It is slated to premiere its first two segments on August 8, 2024. Fans can catch the same on Disney+ Hotstar and can enjoy new episodes every week on Thursdays following the launch.
Additionally, the Are You Sure?! production will roll out a special photobook and merchandise to complement the variety show. Going by the release calendar for the program, fans can look forward to exciting releases in the upcoming days.
While the teaser poster will be revealed on July 15, the Teaser Trailer will come out on July 21, and the main poster and main trailer are set to drop on July 29, all releases scheduled for 8 PM ET.
