Cho Jung-suk has been in a relationship with singer Gummy since 2013 and on October 8, 2018, the couple got married in a private ceremony in the presence of their family members. On August 6, 2020, they welcomed their first daughter.

During the House Daesung show, Cho Jung-suk talked in detail about how he met his wife. The host Daesung warmly welcomed the guest actor and noted that it was the first time they interviewed a couple on the show, referencing Gummy's appearance in one of the earlier episodes. Jung-suk humorously responded that it would have been even better if they had appeared together in the same episode.

Later during the conversation, Daesung mentioned the previous episode featuring the celebrated vocalist Gummy. He recalled narrating to Gummy that Jung-suk had told him about his admiration for her, but that was before the couple had actually met. To this, the singer had humorously asked why the host never told her this before.

Hearing them, Jung-suk in turn asked (echoing his wife's words) why Daesung had not previously shared this sentiment with Gummy, prompting laughter between them.

Daesung inquired if that was indeed an indication of interest. Cho Jung-suk responded in jest, suggesting that if he had set them up back then, there was a possibility that they could have dated then. This prompted BIGBANG member to reflect upon the matter, acknowledging that he had not given it much thought at the time and simply concluding that Jung-suk was just another fan. He continued to ask for forgiveness playfully.

Jung-suk then continued to talk about his first meeting with the singer, through girl group Bubble Sister's member Young Ji. He added that even though he thought that he and his friends were awkward during that meet, his now-wife had found it hilarious.

Talking about the show A-List to Playlist, Jang-suk mentioned how Gummy's advice had helped him. The actor said that she motivated him by telling him he was "doing great," so he just had to be "confident and work even harder”

Cho Jung-suk then provided more insights into his personal experience as a parent for the first time. He mentioned that they made the decision to have the baby in the room with them after the birth, and he assumed full responsibility for taking care of the baby's needs.

"Waking up every two hours to feed the baby was exhausting. However, after three or four days, we finally went to the postpartum care center, and I joined as well because I wanted to stay close," he recalled.

The actor then went on to say:

"The care center was excellent, but the real parenting began once it was over and we returned home. I made a personal commitment to take care of everything myself, regardless of the circumstances. I didn't want to have any regrets in the future. I handled everything for nearly 100 days. I was the expert in putting the baby to sleep during that time."

He even shared some amusing advice on how to put a baby to sleep, which lightened the mood of the conversation.

During the chat, Daesung posed a hypothetical question to Cho regarding his potential reaction if his daughter were to have a boyfriend. The actor, visibly taken aback by the question, took a moment to compose himself before admitting that he had not yet considered the possibility and found it difficult to imagine.

Daesung then proceeded to ask what Cho Jung-suk's thoughts would be if the hypothetical boyfriend possessed a personality similar to his own. In response, Cho Jung-suk expressed that he would be comfortable with such a scenario, acknowledging Daesung's positive qualities and referring to him as a good person.
