All you need to know about GOT7 and their upcoming comeback after a three-year hiatus
GOT7 is a seven-piece K-pop group that debuted in 2014 under JYP Entertainment. The group consists of members Jay B, Mark, Jackson, Jinyoung, Youngjae, BamBam, and Yugyeom. They made their debut through the release of their first EP, Got It?.
The group quickly gained recognition for their intriguing music, energetic performances, elements of martial arts and street dance. Later in their debut year, they expanded into the Japanese market by signing with Sony Music Entertainment Japan, releasing their first Japanese single, Around the World.
Following this, the group released several tracks that dominated the K-pop industry. Some of their popular songs include Just Right, NOT BY THE MOON, Hard Carry, and You Calling My Name. In 2021, following the expiration of their contract with JYP Entertainment, the members chose not to renew and departed from the agency.
Subsequently, the GOT7 members signed with different agencies for their solo activities. Despite being backed by various agencies, they have remained active in the industry as an independent group. In 2022, they released their last EP titled Got7, featuring the album's title track, Nanana. After this release, the members took a short break from activities to concentrate on their solo careers.
After a three-year hiatus, the members are reuniting for another EP titled WINTER HEPTAGON, which will be released in partnership with Kakao Entertainment. The album is expected to be released on January 20, 2025, with more information regarding the tracklist and title track yet to be announced.
