BTS’ Jungkook sparked a wave of speculation and discussion when fans noticed an unusual post on his dog's Instagram account (@bowwow_bam). The post, which reportedly seemed to lend support to the members of NewJeans, came amid the ongoing tension between HYBE and former ADOR CEO Min Hee-jin. This event left fans wondering if the account had been hacked, but the situation soon became clearer.
As per My Daily, BIGHIT Music, the agency representing BTS, officially confirmed that the GOLDEN singer's Instagram post, shared via his dog Bam's account, was indeed made by him and not the result of a hack. In their statement, the label clarified that the post was the idol's way of expressing that young artists should not be dragged into disputes, alluding to the ongoing feud between HYBE and former ADOR CEO Min Hee-jin.
The BTS member's post also came alongside a cryptic caption and a series of five colored heart emojis and a flexing arm symbol, which many fans quickly associated with the five NewJeans members—Minji, Hanni, Danielle, Haerin, and Hyein.
The heart emojis were aligned in a particular sequence that matched how the members of NewJeans often represent themselves online, leading to widespread speculation that Jungkook was showing his support for the girl group. The caption reads,
“Artists are not guilty.”
Fans believed this was his way of standing by the young artists amidst the internal conflict within their label, ADOR, and HYBE. The issue at the center of the dispute was the removal of Min Hee-jin from her CEO role at ADOR.
BTS' Jungkook's unusual Instagram update sent the internet into a frenzy receiving mixed reactions
After the BTS star update on Instagram, not all reactions to the post were positive. Some fans expressed skepticism, questioning whether Jungkook’s account had been compromised. They pointed out that it was unusual for Jungkook to post in English, as he typically writes in Korean on social media.
In the hours that followed, the idol posted another image of Bam after the label's statement, this time with a more direct message:
“Don’t use them.”
Fans interpreted this as a reference to the NewJeans members, suggesting that Jungkook was cautioning against using the young artists as pawns in the ongoing corporate dispute.
The debate over whether his account was hacked continued to gain traction, with fans on both sides of the argument presenting their opinions. While some argued that it was unlike the artist to post such messages using Bam’s Instagram, others believed it was a deliberate move.
They suggested that he chose to use Bam's account to voice his thoughts without interference from HYBE staff, who closely monitor the fan platform Weverse and could have removed such posts if they were shared there.
Netizens also pointed out that if the account had been hacked, the singer would have addressed the situation by now, adding that he has every right to express his views. Amidst the growing speculation, the agency, stepped in to clarify the situation.
The statement noted that Jungkook wanted to highlight the importance of not dragging young artists into disputes or using them as shields in internal company matters.
This affirmation from BIGHIT Music silenced the rumors of hacking and confirmed that Jungkook’s posts were an intentional show of support for the NewJeans members.
