On June 11, 2024, BTS' Jin posted a message on the group's official Weverse handle, sending fans into a frenzy on social media. The post reads a simple "D-1," implying the idol has reached the final day of his countdown before his discharge from the military on June 12. The 31-year-old singer was the first from his group to commence his duty to serve in the South Korean military, which he started on December 13, 2022.

While fans were waiting for his return, the idol seemed equally eager to return to his fans. Before he enlisted, he dropped a message on Weverse saying,

"Now, it's curtain call time (I wanted to say it when I joined the army, this is game character Jin's line/dialogue)."

Having spent many months without the singer, ARMYs (BTS fans) were immensely thrilled to see him leave a comment on the Weverse forum, saying "D-100," on March 4, 2024. It was evident the BTS member was counting down days along with fans leading to his return. Jin's posting "D-1" on June 11 on Weverse has proven the notion. One fan claims, "WE ARE SO READY," in response to his latest Weverse post.

Furthermore, his comeback is just a day shy of the group's 11th debut anniversary on June 13, adding significance and excitement to his return. Amidst the news, fans speculate that a private BTS reunion on Jin's release day may be possible. However, nothing has been verified by the agency, BigHit Music, as an official remarked to Star News that reunion plans are "difficult to confirm."

For the time being, ARMYs are taking over social media, trending Jin under several tags like "JIN JIN JIN," "jin hyung," "RETURN OF OUR PRIDE JIN," and more.

Here are some of the comments made by fans.

"Congratulations to all the Armys who stood by BTS all this while, we are finally at "D-1," read a comment on X.
"HE'S COUNTING DAYS WITH US," said another post.
"seokjin going from 'curtain call time' to 'D-100' to 'D-1,'" wrote another X user.

Meanwhile, some fans find it hard to believe that BTS' eldest is actually coming back.

"THIS IS UNREAL HE IS REALLY COMING BACK TOMORROW," read a post on X.
"JINNIE MUST BE SOO EXCITED JUST LIKE US," a netizen commented.

What are the plans following BTS' Jin's return from the military?

On June 1, 2024, BigHit Music announced a special "Light Hug" ceremony to be held on June 13, aka the 2024 BTS Festa Day. Fans who enter a raffle by purchasing the group's albums (including solo albums) released after PROOF may be qualified to enter the event, where they will get the chance to exchange light hugs or handshakes with Jin himself.

This gathering, happening under strict precautions, was said to be per Jin's wish to spend the Festa with fans, as mentioned in BigHit Music's notice. The notice also disclosed that the event, called "Jin's Greetings," will take place in Jamsil Arena and run for three hours.

An hour-long Weverse livestream called "Message From Jin" was also mentioned and will feature performances by the K-pop artist based on ARMYs' wishes. This livestream is exclusively for fans with ARMY MEMBERSHIP (GL, JP, US), and the news is stirring up anticipation in the fandom.

As netizens believe, this raffle might have been the cause behind BTS' recently dominating Hanteo Charts' Physical Album Chart in the top ten spots, reigned solely by the members' individual albums and PROOF.

Adding to the celebrations, according to reports by Naver, Seoul's Mayor Oh Se-hoon posted a congratulatory post on Facebook titled "Good News," where he wrote,

"I am very happy to hear that BTS's eldest brother Jin is coming back."

He further added how the K-pop phenomenon also served as honorary tourism ambassadors for Seoul City.

Additionally, Jin's return date has been dubbed one of the biggest events in the country as per a recent listing by Yonhap News. It has been deemed a major event with other significant events like the South Korean President's reported visit to three Central Asian countries and the third Nuclear Consultative Group meeting between South Korea and the US.

HYBE stocks have also reportedly experienced a significant surge before Jin's return, with a 2.79% per day rise.

The festivities seem to be ramping up along with the recent Bang Bang Con live stream on June 8 and BTS' Jungkook's latest Festa gift, the full-English song Never Let Go. The upcoming BTS MV Replay: Timeline live broadcast is also slated to happen on June 12, 7 pm KST on Weverse Streaming Platforms. This year's Festa mirrors a major celebration further amped up by Jin's return.
