On July 16, 2024, KOZ Entertainment released a statement regarding the health status of BOYNEXTDOOR's member, Leehan. The statement explained that the K-pop idol is suffering from skin inflammation. During his visit to the hospital, the medical staff recommended him to take rest in addition to his treatment.
The agency further conveyed that the singer will be absent from some of the upcoming schedules. Though he will not be completely away from the group's activities, it was revealed that Leehan won't be participating in the 5th TMEA 2024, Venue101, and The MusiQuest 2024 performances.
Therefore, KOZ Entertainment requested understanding and support from the fans. A part of their statement read:

Fans noticed that Leehan's lips were extremely blistered and swollen, which naturally left people wondering what could be the cause behind it. Many netizens concluded that the idol might be suffering from type 1 herpes simplex virus (HSV-1), which is often spread through oral contact.
Others discussed that the virus is common among adults and when it is triggered, it causes flare-ups in the person's lip region. Some of these triggers include stress, illness, injuries, and more.
Fans were concerned that the singer was possibly overworked by their agency, especially given that the BOYNEXTDOOR member is a rookie K-pop idol who is often packed with schedules and projects.
