Italian luxury brand, Gucci announced BTS' Kim Seok-jin as its newest global brand ambassador. As the face of the brand, The Astronaut singer-songwriter was featured in a campaign to commemorate his collaboration with Gucci, donning the latest Spring/Summer 2024 menswear collection by Creative Director Sabato De Sarno.
Metro Style reported that the Grammy-nominated South Korean artist will reportedly attend several events as Gucci's brand-new face along with runways, and press appearances. Fans were delighted to hear the news and speculated if the BTS idol would also debut on the runway as a model. One fan wrote on X,
"WE CANNOT WAIT WE CANNOT CANNOT RUNWAYS!!!!!!"
Admirers were fixated on the mention of "runaway" in the news report and trended hashtags on X (formerly Twitter).
"Milan, new york, paris aahhhh I'm so excited for Seokjin’s schedule," one fan wrote.
"Runways?! OMGGGGGG, whatever it may be, his appearance on several events is all I want," another fan exclaimed.
"Let’s goooo!! KIM SEOKJIN TAKING OVER THE FASHION WORLD!!" another fan exclaimed.
Others expressed their anticipation over wishing to see the BTS idol walking the ramp show as Gucci's headliner.
"If isee seokjin on Gucci runway one day it will be over for me," one other fan added.

Gucci and FRED's websites crash as BTS' Kim Seok-jin gets announced as their newest global ambassador
On August 8, 2024, Allkpop reported that due to excessive traffic, Gucci's Japanese website momentarily collapsed within minutes of the brand announcing the Epiphany singer-songwriter as their newest face.
A similar situation happened to the luxury jewelry brand FRED, situated in Paris on July 8, 2024. Within hours, an extraordinary surge of users crashed the website after the BTS idol was named their brand ambassador.
Following their statements, both luxury brands used social media to notify their followers of the impending maintenance. Furthermore, on August 8, 2024, Gucci’s creative director Saboto De Sarno welcomed the BTS idol by hailing him as "truly magnetic" and an "extraordinary artist who is able to move people with his music."
“I am very excited to welcome Jin as Global Brand Ambassador. His warm and kind personality is truly magnetic, and his style is simply unique. He is a generous and extraordinary artist who is able to move people with his music, which makes us even more honored to share this journey with him," said Saboto De Sarno.
In other news, the Epiphany singer-songwriter is set to release his debut solo album by the end of 2024. He was discharged from the military on June 12, 2024, as a sergeant after completing 18 months of mandatory service.
