SEVENTEEN surprised fans on October 1, 2024, when they revealed a collaboration with DJ Khaled for their upcoming album SPILL THE FEELS. They announced the collaboration on their official X account (@pledis_17) with a screen recording of a message from the American DJ and producer. DJ Khaled enthusiastically stated that he had added his "signature sound" to the track, which he said was "fire."

“Hey SEVENTEEN, I just added my signature sound into our finished track, so check it out! IT'S FIRE!” Khaled said.

However, when fans saw the video, many were disappointed and voiced concerns about DJ Khaled's involvement. The Carats, SEVENTEEN's fanbase, didn't react to the news the way that is usually expected from a high-profile collaboration like this one. A significant number of fans stated that they weren't too happy about Khaled's involvement in the video.

Some fans even called for the group to distance themselves from the collaboration with the record producer. They claimed that the feature didn't align with their expectations for SEVENTEEN's music. A user on X, @lvz4won, wrote that they "only care about the band" and were pointing out that Khaled was "problematic."

"IM JUST POINTING OUT HOW PROBLEMATIC DJ KHALED IS AND WE DON’T WANT SVT TO ASSOCIATE WITH HIM. we only care abt svt, soooo…"
"can we agree that some of us aren't 100% okay with this collab?," a fan commented.
"come on, why are you even tolerating this at the first place? WE ONLY WANT SEVENTEEN," another user mentioned.
"so who's gonna do us a favor and edit out dj khaled like twice alcohol free without the jyp," a fan remarked.

Fans have expressed disappointment over DJ Khaled's feature on the group's upcoming album SPILL THE FEELS. While some fans were upset over Khaled's silence on the ongoing Israel-Palestine conflict, others were concerned due to his association with Sean "Diddy" Combs. The latter is currently facing serious legal allegations.

"Thank god someone said it! Do not fall for it. DJ Khaled is not a good person. His friendship with Diddy should be a big enough red flag! Also, the fact that he's Palestinian & has remained SILENT about the GENOCIDE of his people," a fan commented.
"Sorry but I don't feel so excited 'bout this one anymore. I love Seventeen so much but I hope they won't get dragged in any issues that solely focuses on DJ Khaled," an X user mentioned.
"Stop featuring these people, research who you're collabing with before you collab im begging..," a person wrote.

Many SEVENTEEN fans believe this collaboration could tarnish the group’s image and are calling for them to reconsider working with the American DJ and producer.
