BTS' DNA achieves the milestone of 1.6 billion views and 23 million likes on YouTube

DNA is one of the tracks from BTS' 2017 album Love Yourself: Her. Musically, it blends EDM beats with acoustic guitar, bringing together elements of electro-pop and dance genres.

Beginning with an instantly recognizable whistling sound, the music video transitions through numerous imaginative scenes.

In a 2017 article, OSEN News reporter Seon Mi-kyung described DNA as:

"DNA is a song that expresses the fresh and energetic love of youth. The electro pop, addictive whistling sounds, and acoustic guitar combines to present an upgraded sound that is typical of BTS but also differentiates it from the existing team color."

With DNA, Bangtan Sonyeondan made history as the first K-pop group to enter the Billboard Hot 100 chart. In 2023, it became one of the first K-pop songs (alongside Whistle by BLACKPINK) to be added to Korea World Music Culture's Hall of Fame. On Spotify as well, it’s one of the most streamed K-pop songs of all time with 655 million streams to its name.

The seven-member boy group now holds 39 music videos with at least 100 million views each. Their top videos include Dynamite and Boy With Luv at 1.8 billion views, MIC Drop (Steve Aoki Remix) at 1.4 billion views, and IDOL at 1.3 billion views. Additionally, other hits include Fake Love with 1.2 billion views, Blood Sweat & Tears, and Butter with over 900 million views.
