In celebration of BTS' 11th debut anniversary on June 13, SUGA and other BTS members released a handwritten letter for ARMYs. SUGA started the letter by saying that it had been quite a while since he had talked to the fans.
He added that he is doing well health-wise and hoped that ARMYs are taking care of themselves. He also mentioned how it's 613 again, the number that translated to June 13, the group's debut date. He said that he is sad that he can't spend the day with fans.
"Again, it's time for 613. We have made many good memories at every 613 BTS event. I can't believe that I won't be able to see ARMY on this day, but I'm relieved that Seokjin will be there to have a great time with you in my stead. Haha."

The members' letters were telecasted on the big screen at the 2024 BTS Festa event, where 1000 lucky ARMYs were chosen through a raffle to spend the milestone with Jin, who was discharged from the military on June 12.

On June 13, the seven-piece K-pop group hit its 11th year in the industry, and the celebrations for the same have been rolling out. While six members are still enlisted in the military, serving their mandatory service, Jin was discharged on June 12, just in time for the 2024 BTS Festa celebrations.
Given that the other members weren't present for the occasion, they released handwritten letters for the ARMYs. Here's what SUGA's letter read:
"Hello, ARMY! This is SUGA! Long time no see! It's been a long time since I've written. It feels quite awkward and strange, hahaha. I'm doing great. Since last time, our concert film was released, and I made it through boot camp. These days I'm super busy. I'm sure out ARMY is doing good, too."
"I hope you all have a blast at our BTS 613 festival! I'm desperately waiting for the day we meet again! Until then, please take good care of yourself and stay in good health. I MISS YOU, ARMY!! See you soon!!," he added.
Fans have not received many updates or pictures of the idol since his enlistment. The few times they've gotten a glimpse of SUGA were in pictures from RM and V's enlistment, Jimin and Jungkook's enlistment, and most recently, Jin's military discharge. Naturally, fans were delighted to receive a heartfelt letter from the idol.
SUGA enlisted for his mandatory military service in September 2023. However, due to his shoulder injury, his role in the military is under the public sector. This elongates his service period slightly longer than the required 18 months.
Therefore, despite his early enlistment, he will be discharged from the military in June 2025, along with BTS' RM, V, Jungkook, and Jimin, who enlisted in December 2023.
