"We are preparing a lot" — BIGHIT MUSIC confirms BTS' Jin's activities in the last quarter of 2024, hinting at several upcoming variety show projects

Daily Sports reported on August 28, 2024, that BTS' Kim Seok-jin has been preparing multiple content for the last quarter of 2024. The BTS member was discharged from the Republic of Korea Army (ROKA) on June 12, 2024, after completing 18 months of mandatory service.

After that, he has been busy filming for multiple reality/variety shows such as MBC's Half-star Hotel in Lost Island, and RUN JIN, among others. On August 28, Xports News reported that he is set to be featured on Netflix's new reality show, KIAN'S BIZZARE B&B.

Meanwhile, BIGHIT MUSIC (now HYBE Labels) stated that they have prepared "a lot in various ways" and said,

"Jin wanted to show a different side of himself from what he has shown so far. We hope that his sincerity in actively trying to reach out to many fans will be conveyed. In addition to our own variety show, we are preparing a lot in various ways. We will continue to be active in the second half of the year, so please look forward to it."

BTS' Kim Seok-jin reportedly filming multiple content to release by the end of 2024

After his military discharge, Jin engaged in several activities such as hosting his first-ever solo fan meet at Jamsil Arena on June 13, 2024. He performed on Moon, The Astronaut, Super Tuna (Extended version), and danced on Jungkook's SEVEN during the fan meet show.

Additionally, he became the first Korean musician to get selected by the International Olympic Committee (IOC) as the torchbearer for the 2024 Paris Olympics Torch Relay. Meanwhile, pop culture critic, Kim Sung-soo told Daily Sports about the BTS idol's decision to feature on multiple reality shows.

"Jin is showing a move that fits the image of the group BTS. BTS is a group that has shown the appearance of ordinary 20-year-olds up close, unlike other idols. In that sense, he chose an entertainment show very well," he said.

Kim Sung-soo continued by mentioning Half-star Hotel in Lost Island, also called Pookdaehang in Korean, and how its ratings were improved because of the BTS singer-songwriter.

"Although ‘Pookdaehang’ is not a variety show with high viewer ratings, it naturally narrowed the distance by exposing the scenes of Jin going to an uninhabited island and catching seafood himself."

Furthermore, Half-star Hotel in Lost Island scored the highest topicality ratings in the last week of August 2024 on FUNDex due to the Abyss singer-songwriter. TV Chosun reported that the BTS singer ranked No. 2 on the TV-OTT Non-Drama cast topicality survey announced by Good Data Corporation FUNdex for the last week of August 2024.

In other news, Jin featured on the cover of Harper's BAZAAR Korea. It will be published in September 2024 and the publication released a short interview with him on its official YouTube channel.
