On Wednesday, October 16, 2024, Eyes Magazine editor Park Jin-pyo posted an Instagram story tagging BTS' Kim Namjoon, aka RM. In his story, he wrote that their youngest took a leave and came home for a vacation.

Astute fans were thrilled that Namjoon took special leave ahead of BTS member j-hope's military discharge. For the unversed, Jung Ho-seok, aka j-hope of BTS, enlisted in the South Korean military on April 18, 2023, and is set to be discharged on October 17, 2024, after completing 18 months of service.
Earlier, during BTS' Kim Seok-jin's military discharge on June 12, 2024, all members of BTS took leave from their ongoing military enlistment and reunited to welcome Jin back to civilian life. Similarly, fans became excited to speculate that Namjoon must have taken leave from his military service to attend j-hope's discharge on October 17.
A fan wrote on X,
"Namjoon on a leave… oh we’re getting that ot7 reunion really soon"
The screenshot of Park Jin-pyo's Instagram story went viral on the internet as the BTS fandom flooded social media anticipating seeing the "OT7" (all BTS members) together at j-hope's discharge.
"On leave you say? Which means he will be there. The other members might be on leave too. Girls we’re getting BTS tomorrow!" a fan wrote.
"So tomorrow we will get ot7 pic and they will have launch together, I'm so happy guys," another fan wrote.
"We are gonna see the members together in few hours i am already sobbing," one other fan added.
Others expressed their excitement over the rumor that BTS' Jungkook and Jimin are on leave from their military duties as well.
"Wait so if jikook are rumored to be on leave, and rm IS on leave, it only means one things ot7 reunion tomorrow?" one fan said.
"OHMYGOD ??!? I FEEL LIKE THE WORLD IS FINALLY HEALING," another fan stated.
"Omg.? We're really getting Ot7 reunion tmrw.??? Don't play with me im already wailing," another fan added.

BTS' Namjoon, aka RM enlisted in the South Korean military on December 11, 2023, alongside his bandmate, Kim Taehyung, aka V. Both did their five-week basic training in the Army Training Center in Nonsan, South Korea, before graduating at the top of the class on January 16, 2024. Among the 200 soldiers, only six graduated as Elite Soldiers, including RM and Taehyung.
On January 18, RM was deployed to the 15th Infantry Division in Hwacheon-gun, Gangwon-do, South Korea. Meanwhile, Taehyung was sent to the Army General Administration School for an additional two weeks of training to join the special forces, Special Duty Team (SDT).
After completing the training, Taehyung was deployed to the 2nd Military Corps of SDT, aka the Ssangyong Unit or the "Double Dragons." Furthermore, BTS' Jeon Jungkook and Park Jimin enlisted on December 12, 2023, and were deployed to the 5th Infantry Division together on January 20, 2024.
On the other hand, Namjoon's solo documentary, Right Place, Wrong Person, premiered on October 7, 2024, at the 29th Busan International Film Festival (BIFF). The documentary captured the BTS leader's journey as a solo artist, creating his second solo album, Right Place, Wrong Person. The album was released on May 24, 2024, with 11 tracks.
In other news, BTS' Namjoon became the first and only Korean artist to win all nominations at the 2024 CICLOPE Awards.
