According to JTBC's report, The Glory famed actress, Park Ji-ah, passed away on September 30, 2024, at the age of 52. Park Ji-ah died as a result of an ischemic stroke, which is also referred to as a cerebral infarction. She suffered a stroke while battling an illness for a long time. However, her family did not disclose her actual illness.
For the unversed, a cerebral infarction, also known as an ischemic stroke, is a condition in which the arteries supplying blood to the brain malfunction, causing abnormal blood flow to the brain. Brain cells that don't receive enough blood flow are deprived of oxygen, which can lead to death or permanent disability.
Some common symptoms include one-sided paralysis, loss of speaking, losing control of the facial muscles, blurred vision, fainting, etc.
Meanwhile, JTBC reported that The Glory actress collapsed at 2:50 AM on September 30 and didn't regain consciousness. Her agency, Billions, issued a statement informing her about her unfortunate passing away.
"This is Park Ji Ah’s agency, Billions. We are here to inform you of heart breaking news. Park Ji Ah passed away today at 2:50 am at the age of 52 after suffering an ischemic stroke. The funeral for the deceased has been set up at funeral hall 2 at the Asan Medical Center. The funeral procession will take place on October 2 at 10am."

The Glory was released in two parts, where the first part premiered on December 30, 2022, and the second was aired on March 10, 2023. The drama starred Song Hye-kyo (Descendant of the Sun), Lee Do-hyun (Good Bad Mother), Lim Ji-yeon (Revolver), Yeom Hye-ran (The Uncanny Counter), Park Sung-hoon (Queen of Tears), and Jung Sung-il (Begin Youth), along with the late Park Ji-ah.
The revenge drama focused on a former school violence victim, Moon Dong-eun (Song Hye-kyo), who sought retribution against her abusers. She accepted a position as a homeroom teacher at an elementary school, where Park Yeon-jin's (Lim Ji-yeon) kid Ha Ye-sol goes to school. Park Yeon-jin was the leader of the delinquents who bullied and tortured Moon Dong-eun when they were students.
During their middle school years, Park Yeon-jin and her lackeys extorted money from a classmate, Moon Dong-eun. For almost a month, they would constantly beat her, burn her body with things, and s*xually assault her. Later, in when Moon Dong-eun returns to seek her revenge, she meets Joo Yeo-jeong (Lee Do-hyun), who helps her with her vengeance.
The late Park Ji-ah played Jung Mi-hee, the mother of Moon Dong-eun in The Glory. Jung Mi-hee worked in a barbershop and had a severe alcohol addiction. She abandoned Moon Dong-eun for money.
