IU and EDAM Entertainment provide meals and hot packs to protestors in favor of South Korean president Yoon Suk-yeol
On December 13, 2024, EDAM Entertainment released a notice on IU's Daum fan cafe where they stated that they would give out meals and hot packs to the fans who were joining the protest rallies the next day. This was due to Yoon Suk-yeol’s emergency martial law enforcement on December 3, 2024, which was called off a few hours later due to massive nationwide criticism.
As a result, the opposition including several citizens of South Korea demanded an impeachment of the president. Furthermore, on December 14, the national assembly confirmed the president's impeachment following unanimous voting.
Furthermore, artists like NewJeans, Girls’ Generations’ Yuri and Seohyun, Lee Dong-wook, Go Min-si, Park Myung-soo, Ahn Bo-hyun, Lee Chae-yeon, STAYC, Lee Jong-suk, and more were reported to the CIA for their reported support to Yoon Suk-yeol’s impeachment.
