On November 14, 2024, the South Korean media outlet Edaily reported that THE BOYZ's Sunwoo was assaulted by a stalker at his apartment. The actor's agency, IST Entertainment, spoke about the incident on November 9, 2024. They mentioned that the incident occurred after the male artist completed his scheduled activities and was on his way to the dorm.

Subsequently, as the idol got off the elevator and tried to open the front door of his apartment, a sasaeng (an obsessed fan) approached him. The sasaeng was hiding on the emergency staircase of the floor. Sunwoo quickly informed the staff, and they caught the obsessed fan. The individual was handed over to the police.

BOYZ's Sunwoo's saesang was arrested on charges of burglary and assault

According to the outlet, the obsessed fan was arrested on the charges of residential burglary and assault. Presently, the police have been investigating the matter.

IST Entertainment disclosed that Sunwoo and the staff visited the hospital for treatment and needed a check-up immediately after the incident. The agency further assured the fans that they were checking the artist's health regularly and taking necessary measures to prioritize the health and safety of the artists.

The agency also disclosed other acts that were threatening the safety of Sunwoo and other members. They stated that the member vehicles had been tagged with location trackers, and tires were slashed with ill intention. They mentioned that they had a zero-tolerance policy for the illegal acts as they have caused mental and material harm to their artists and staff.

The agency asserted that it would take legal action against invasion of privacy and other illegal acts. They have collected the CCTV footage and subsequently filed a report to the police. IST Entertainment added that they are proactively taking action against the stalker:

"We would like to inform you that we are constantly collecting evidence and reviewing materials through our legal representatives, and we once again state that there will be no leniency or agreement during the process."

IST Entertainment further reasoned why they were taking stern actions against the illegal acts committed by fans. They mentioned:

"As a result of the continued illegal acts such as unauthorized visits to places related to the artist's private life such as the office building, shops, and even his dorm, visiting during non-public schedules, spreading malicious rumors, forcibly contacting the members' movements during entry and exit from the airport including on airplanes..."

The agency continued:

"Taking photos and videos, following them in vehicles, and illegally obtaining personal information and attempting to contact them, not only the artist but also his family, acquaintances, and people around him are casuing serious mental and material damage."

In recent news, the South Korean K-pop group THE BOYZ unveiled their ninth mini album, Fuse, on October 29, 2024.
