Local media accounts indicate that Zhao fainted from exertion. This ignited conjecture over her demanding work routine and persistent battles with depression.
Speculation regarding her struggle with aphasia, a disorder impacting speech and communication, further intensified concerns.
Subsequently, the actor's management team released a statement affirming that the actress had experienced a health crisis and was currently receiving medical attention.
Zhao Lusi has suspended all her ongoing projects for rehabilitation
The 26-year-old starlet was observed in a photograph being conveyed in a wheelchair to the hospital. The photographs depicted her as fragile, with her head drooping and requiring support.
Her condition, as illustrated in the viral photograph, elicited widespread concern from followers.
Zhao has ceased all professional responsibilities to focus on her rehabilitation, as stated by her management team on Weibo. On December 19, her studio released the statement, saying:
"Ms. Zhao Lusi has always adhered to the original intention of an actor, cherishing every opportunity to perform. We will now take her health as the primary consideration.”
In addition to the updates, Zhao's father stated that she is safe and recuperating in a message posted to her official fan club on December 28.
Zhao's father informed followers that she is gradually improving. He thanked everyone for their care and expressed hope that she would gradually regain her health.
Amidst her health challenges, Zhao handed the responsibility of disseminating updates regarding her condition to her good friend, actress Weixiao, through social media.
In an emotional post, Weixiao uploaded an image of Zhao Lusi in a wheelchair, disclosing that the actress has commenced restoring her speech and initiated rehab exercises in order to stand again.
While conveying optimism over her healing process, Weixiao also demanded accountability, demanding someone to furnish a detailed explanation of the events that transpired.
She asserted that it was neither her role nor the actress's obligation to elucidate the situation.
