In a video released on December 1, 2024, titled TREASURE NEWS & 2025 YG PLAN, former CEO Yang Hyun-suk shared the company’s plan for the group’s future. Starting January 1, 2025, Junkyu and Asahi will take over leadership roles from Hyunsuk and Jihoon, marking a change in the group’s structure.

The announcement highlighted YG’s intention to refresh the group’s dynamics by rotating leadership every two to three years. The move comes as the group prepares for 2025, with new music releases and a global tour planned.

"Starting with January 1, 2025, the two leaders of TREASURE will change. The members who will take on the role of leaders are Kim Jun-kyu and Asahi who will be co-leading with him. I believe these two members will do a great job as leaders of TREASURE for 2-3 years," the CEO stated.

Junkyu and Asahi are expected to bring a fresh perspective to the group’s activities, which include a digital single titled LAST NIGHT set for release on December 5, followed by a mini-album in February. There would also be a full-length album in summer.
