On June 28, 2024, BTS' Jimin dropped the pre-release single Smeraldo Garden Marching Band (feat. Loco) through HYBE LABELS' official YouTube Channel. As BTS ARMYs watched the artist's latest record, the fictional Smeraldo flower captivated their attention.

The Smeraldo flower, known as the flower of legend, has been connected to BTS' methodology. The flower is featured as an idea/concept in the septet's music and videos. It appeared in Bangtan Universe (BU) and HYYH (Hwa Yong Yeon Hwa), also known as The Most Beautiful Moment in Life.

According to the Smeraldo blog (available on Naver), founded by the ARMYs before the release of the group's Love Yourself: HER album in 2017, the fictional Smeraldo flowers were discovered on June 12, 2013, in northern Italy. The florist Teste Husso started the Smeraldo blog and mentioned in its third story how he had discovered the fictional flower through one of his friends and stated:

"He notes that in 2013, a friend he met at the playing cards event five years prior called him to tell him someone had discovered Smeraldos in real life. He shares a screenshot of an Instagram post from June 12, 2013 (the date of BTS's debut). The Instagram user is "amare_0" and is supposedly a traveler who found the flowers growing in northern Italy." (as translated by the website The BTS Effect)

The theme of BTS Jimin's Smeraldo Garden Marching Band (feat. Loco) revolved around confession

According to a press release shared by BigHit Music on January 28, 2024, through their official X account, the theme of BTS Jimin's Smeraldo Garden Marching Band (feat. Loco) revolved around confession. The artist took a motif from the Bangtan Universe's fictional flower, Smeraldo, which means 'the truth that could not be conveyed/told.' Jimin intended to convey his overwhelming love to the fandom ARMYs through his latest track, using the fictional flower Smeraldo. Bighit Music stated:

"The theme of the lyrics is 'confession.' Jimin drew inspiration from the fictional flower 'Smeraldo,' which symbolizes 'a sincere heart that couldn't be conveyed,' to complete sweet lyrics that confess love on behalf of those who cannot express their feelings. The sweet lyrics are a confession on behalf of those who cannot express their feelings, helping them find love."

The track Smeraldo Garden Marching Band (feat. Loco) took inspiration from the English rock band Beatles' album Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band. During the production process of Jimin's debut solo studio album FACE, the idol worked with a team of writers.

He referred to the team as the Smeraldo Garden Marching Band and enjoyed their involvement in the creative process. Subsequently, with the help of his fictional team and inspiration from the rock band's album, the idol introduced his creation, Smeraldo Garden Marching Band (feat. Loco), to the world.

The track blended the sound of a large orchestra with the hip-hop genre musicals and was based on a marching band that paraded. Meanwhile, the music video started with Jimin, Pdogg, Ghstloop, and Evan gathered as the fictional group, Smeraldo Garden Marching Band, and playing a jolly tune.

Jimin transformed into the leader and performed with fellow musicians, followed by Loco's upbeat rap. The music video featured children, lovers, friends, and background dancers, radiating a lively atmosphere.

Jimin evoked the memories and stories associated with the fictional flower Smeraldo, which has been used by the group throughout their work. Smeraldo was connected with the track The Truth Unfold from the Love Yourself: TEAR album.

Even in one of the concept photos for the idol's upcoming album, MUSE, he holds the blue-colored Smeraldo flower, hinting at the message he wanted to convey to ARMYs. Additionally, fellow group member Jin shared a tweet on August 9, 2017, where he held a bouquet and captioned his post as, 'Smeraldo.'

Back when Jin shared the update regarding Smeraldo, the fandom dug deeper and found a blog titled Smeraldo Blog on Naver, which was created on July 4, 2017, and consisted of nine stories. The blog provided knowledge and background stories related to the Smeraldo Flower.

The stories featured on the blog left many clues related to the fictional flower and revealed its connection to the Bangtan Universe in the eight original stories. ARMYs concluded that Smeraldo Blog was created to support the group's album, Love Yourself: HER Comeback, in 2017.

BTS Jimin's upcoming second album, MUSE, is slated for release on July 19, 2024.
