On August 16, 2024, Netflix unveiled the trailer for the upcoming variety show A-List To Playlist, starring actor Cho Jung-seok. The show follows Cho Jung-seok's journey as he pursues his debut as a singer. According to the trailer, poster, and posts shared by the streaming platform, A-List To Playlist will premiere on Netflix on August 30, 2024.

The show also features Jung Sang-hoon and Moon Sang-hoon, who play the roles of the agency's CEO and publicity manager, respectively, adding a layer of humor to the series. The trailer also teases appearances by many Korean A-list celebrities as guest stars.

As per Netflix, the show's official synopsis reads:

"With a 20-year acting career, Cho Jung-seok takes on the challenge of debuting as a singer in 100 days, mobilizing his entire network against the clock!"

The trailer for A-List To Playlist opens with actor Jung Sang-hoon listening to Cho Jung-seok play an original song, only to humorously remark that it is not bad as he is not going to release it. This scene sets the tone for the show, with Jung Sang-hoon and actor Moon Sang-hoon discussing how they might suggest Jung-seok should "stick to acting."

The trailer showcases the chaotic and hilarious trio of real-life close friends, further fueling viewers' excitement for the show. The plot of A-List To Playlist unfolds with the critically acclaimed actor, who, after twenty years of acting experience, is now heading towards his dream of becoming a solo singer and songwriter.

In this journey, he gets a group of singers, rappers, and actors to support him. Just like Netflix's description, Cho Jung-seok definitely works on the network he has built up in his long career.

The star-studded lineup of A-List To Playlist is led by some of South Korea's most prominent figures, including pop, soul, and R&B singer-songwriter and actress IU, South Korean rapper Gaecko, and South Korean ballad singer and musical theatre actor Park Hyo-shin, as his mentors. They share their opinion on Cho Jung-seok's music.

"I love it," IU in the trailer said.

This show also includes his entire Hospital Playlist group Yoo Yeon-seok, Jung Kyung-ho, Kim Dae-myung, and Jeon Mi-do, all of them lend their voices to Cho Jong-seok's songs. Last but not least, Gummy, the soul and R&B singer who is also his wife takes part as Jung-seok's co-singer. His Don't Dare to Dream (2016) co-star Kong Hyo-jin also appears in the trailer, announcing that she will play the lead in a music video for Cho Jung-seok.

Cho Jung-seok is widely known for playing Ik Jun, an assistant professor of general surgery, in both seasons of the medical drama Hospital Playlist (2020-2021). Most recently, he was seen in the South Korean television series Captivating the King (2024) and in the South Korean comedy film Pilot (2024).
