Single’s Inferno holds the distinction of being Netflix Korea’s first unscripted series to be renewed for a fourth season. The popular South Korean reality series is set to return on January 14 with a fresh group of singles searching for love while stranded on a deserted island. After Single's Inferno season 3 ended in January 2024, talks of a fourth revamped season have been consistent.

This season of Single’s Inferno will have a total of 12 episodes spread across 5 weeks. Fans can expect to watch the first four episodes in the first week and two every following week.

As in previous seasons, contestants will start on Inferno, their home base with limited resources. To escape to paradise, they must find a match and leave together, where they can explore their relationships in a luxurious setting. However, comfort is short-lived in this game, as unexpected twists and rule changes keep everyone on their toes.

What can fans expect from Single’s Inferno season 4?

On Single’s Inferno, everyday essentials are stripped down to the basics as 12 contestants must survive on a deserted island, securing food and water while getting to know each other. They also compete in challenges to earn the chance to leave the island for a luxurious hotel stay with someone they’d like to connect with. Ultimately, the only way to leave for good is by finding the ‘perfect match’ and leaving hand-in-hand.

According to the Korea Joongang Daily, on November 21, producers Kim Jae-won and Kim Jung-hyun disclosed plans for significant changes following the third season, featuring notable updates from earlier instalments. Kim Jae-won shared,

“We’ll work hard to make Season 4 even more entertaining by closely considering fans’ feedback on Season 3, both the praise and the critiques.”

Kim Jung-hyun expressed confidence that Single’s Inferno has significantly impacted the dating reality genre. He noted that the show could continue for many more seasons if efforts are made to introduce fresh themes and tones, setting it apart from similar programs. In an interview with The Korean Herald on December 23, Kim Jae-won said:

“The main response was that while the season was entertaining, it lacked heartwarming moments. If we proceed with a new season, I’d like to make it both touching and fun.”

He also hinted at the potential for a spin-off featuring all-star contestants from past seasons of Single’s Inferno.

Will Yuk Jun-seo join the cast of Single's Inferno season 4?
