She was accompanied by the South Korean actor Lee Min-ho for the promotion of the duo's latest space and romance drama When the Stars Gossip.

She explained that initially, Kevin Oh proposed to her near the Bukhan River, which disappointed her. However, when the couple reached home, the latter surprised her with a unique proposal. He scattered flower petals all over the floor, followed by placing 10 cards with a story on the path following the house. Additionally, he wrote stories on cards, which moved Gong Hyo-jin to tears.

Gong Hyo-jin shared that first, Kevin Oh asked her to come out on a walk with their dog. They went near the Bukhan River, where he showed her a moving camera. He said he wanted to try the device by filming her. As he filmed her, he said, 'Do You marry me?' At that time, the actress' husband did not carry any ring or gift. Subsequently, she was disappointed and asked him to try it the next time.
